Here's a quick little video to prove this thing actually runs... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z4b0q0jGNF0 |

With 10 trail miles under its belt now, I thought I'd write down a few thought about the li'l Bronco. I'm already addicted to this thing. Alan Man has a pretty sweet ride. I haven't pushed it too hard yet. Very scale driving for the most part. It is a little top heavy. That, along with the narrow track, can make side-hilling a bit of an adventure. Nothing major and certainly not a big deal for most of the trailing I do. The CMS has worked well. I haven't noticed any bump steer. The short wheelbase can make it a tad squirrel-y on long, straight sections. The benefit is that it is extremely nimble and maneuverable. It's diminutive size can cause it to pop its nose up and tumble back over itself if you're not paying attention and hit a taller-than-expected tree root head on at full throttle. Theoretically, of course. The little RC4WD Goodyear tires are the bees knees. They hook up great. The stock foams even work well with a light rig like this. The HobbyWing 1080 ESC, Holmes Hobbies Trailmaster and cheap-o servo are getting the job done. I did order a bigger pinion to get a tad more wheel speed. Hopefully I'll get that installed soon. ![]() MST CFX Ford Bronco by johnny anguish, on Flickr ![]() MST CFX Ford Bronco by johnny anguish, on Flickr ![]() MST CFX Ford Bronco by johnny anguish, on Flickr ![]() MST CFX Ford Bronco by johnny anguish, on Flickr ![]() MST CFX Ford Bronco by johnny anguish, on Flickr ![]() MST CFX Ford Bronco by johnny anguish, on Flickr ![]() MST CFX Ford Bronco by johnny anguish, on Flickr |

I run weighted wheels...with the motor so high up, some weight down low makes all the difference in the world as far as stability. Really like those tiny tires...might have to look into a set. |

I understand how it can help, but I've never been a weighted wheel kind of guy. They make Beef Tubes for these now, right? Maybe I'll look into those at some point. In reality, the performance has been plenty good enough for the type of trail driving I'm most likely to do with it. | |

Here's another quick video. My Little Little Guy wanted to help me with my fledgling YouTube channel. We took turns driving and filming. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sNA7nTAcsgY |

Inspires me to put my Cruiser body aside and get a Bronco body. Love the wheels and tire combo too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Had my first minor issue with the CFX out on the trails this morning. I lost a nut that holds on one of the rear upper links. Weird. Never had that happen before. All I can think of is that I must have over-tightened it during assembly and stripped out the nylon insert. The li'l Bronco still managed to make it back under its own power. All-in-all not bad way to start the day. ![]() MST CFX Ford Bronco Build by johnny anguish, on Flickr ![]() MST CFX Ford Bronco by johnny anguish, on Flickr |

It was a quick fix to get the li'l Bronco back out on the trails. I used a slightly longer screw this time around for some added security. This rig also crossed the 20 mile mark out on the trails. That means it's time for another photo dump... ![]() MST CFX Ford Bronco by johnny anguish, on Flickr ![]() MST CFX Ford Bronco by johnny anguish, on Flickr ![]() MST CFX Ford Bronco by johnny anguish, on Flickr ![]() MST CFX Ford Bronco by johnny anguish, on Flickr ![]() MST CFX Ford Bronco by johnny anguish, on Flickr ![]() MST CFX Ford Bronco by johnny anguish, on Flickr |

Right around the 35 mile mark I noticed I was in 2WD. ![]() MST CFX Ford Bronco Build by johnny anguish, on Flickr I think that dangling thing is supposed to be attached to something. Thankfully, I had heard the driveshafts were a potential weak point. They were cheap enough that I ordered a couple of spares back when I built the kit. ![]() MST CFX Ford Bronco Build by johnny anguish, on Flickr ![]() MST CFX Ford Bronco Build by johnny anguish, on Flickr Much betterer! Also, apparently we're living in the future. On the same trail run that proved the li'l Bronco a pretty capable RWD rig, I also lost a shock cup. I did *not* have a spare one of those handy. I do, however, have a brandy new 3D printamajig. Instant parts! ![]() MST CFX Ford Bronco Build by johnny anguish, on Flickr ![]() MST CFX Ford Bronco Build by johnny anguish, on Flickr With the truck all patched up, it was time to get it back out on the trails.
