Picked up a MST CFX-W kit today for my latest addition

Was considering a Traxxas TRX4 Sport build kit, Axial SCX10ii Cherokee kit, or this kit for my next build. Went with this kit because I don’t own anything yet by MST. After I get the body painted for my Gmade Komodo Double Cab GS02 I’ll start this build. I’ve built many kits but if anybody has run into any errors in the manual or has had any unique issues that they encountered during their build I’d very much appreciate anything that anyone can share.

The portal gears blow up. All the time. Complete junk.

Use other axles or stop now.

I appreciate the heads up. The truck is complete so I’ll pick up some spare portal gears just in case. There are 2 other of these trucks locally. Haven’t heard about the portal gears but my friend snapped the splined inserts in the center shafts so I filled mine with epoxy when I built them. I try to buy something different than the other trucks I have when I get a new kit, and even though some of the build steps/parts/etc of this kit had me scratching my head I’m gonna give this truck a fair shake. I beat the heck out of my TRX4 but I’m pretty easy on my others. Thanks again for the tip. I’ll be sure to have spares on hand.

If they are shimmed correctly this is not true with a standard motor.
Now if you throw and hot brushless then maybe
