Default Robotboy's CFX-W JP1

This has been my in between other builds build. Pretty much a built thread at
this point. Test ran it for a few minutes and it does quite well. Have to change
a couple things; stiffer springs up front and find a different bumper. The bumper
that came with is just a rock anchor. It seeks rocks and sticks to them like velcro.
I may also raise the body just a smidge. A bit too much tire rubbing for me.
Other than that it's close other than adding scale bits, lights and maybe a
simple interior. I have some front axle aluminum stuff on order; portals, C's and
link mounts. I'll have to remember to take pics when I install then.

Specs as of now:
MST CFX-W JP1 kit.
XTra Speed Alum. C's & Portals, front.
XTra Speed Alum. link mounts, F&R.
Brood Pathfinder 5 slot 13T Motor
HW 1080 WP ESC.
SPT 35kg WP servo.
Yeah Racing wide brass hexes.
Unknown Aluminum Beadlocks.
Proline Trenchers, 1.9, 4.75".
CI Lil Nova comp cut foams.
SS front lower links & high clearance SS rears.

Anywho here she be...

Looks great! Reminds me I really need to get mine off the shelf and work on it.

Thanks! It was a good build, well made parts and decent instructions.

Wow cool. Interesting that the CFX-W is getting interest again. I need to dig mine out of the garage and run it again.

I was curious and picked one up. Ran it once and it did great. I was impressed
for being practically stock. I had to put better foams in the tires though. Prolines
stock foams are trash, I don't know why they even bother to make em.
Well I guess they'd be good for a one pound rig.

Yeah, I had built mine back in 2017. At that time they were only selling the rig as a chassis only kit. I think the new bodies probably have a lot to do with the renewed interest.

Keep an eye on the slider shafts. They’re very fragile. MST does make metal ones, but Enduro Sendero slider shafts are a direct bolt on for another option. I love my CFX-W. I hated the ridiculous amount of torque twist with the stock shock setup. Ended up throwing on a cheap set of Gmade RSD shocks with 50wt oil and NO springs and it crawls better than any of my Axial or Traxxas trucks. I run a very tame Holmes Crawlmaster Sport 540 13t motor to keep stress on the little portal gears to a minimum and the thing is a crawling champion. Very capable truck if willing to give it a shot despite a few small flaws. Anyone who sees it or wheels it is very surprised. Nice to see others giving this truck some love.

My stock shafts are still in the package, didn't even bother with them. I used
some that I had, that fit, so there's a junfac in the rear and enduro in front. I
had it out a bit today and really surprised how well it works. Fun truck!

Love that!

Can I ask the origin of the rear light buckets please?

They'd work perfectly to cover up the po's bodgery

The buckets came with the body in the kit. Don't know if they're
sold separately.
