Default MST-CMX YJ build

I'm not much of a build thread guy, but I'm having a lot of fun with this one.

Got some paint sprayed on it this morning. I still need to paint the hard top. I'm going to keep all the paint matte. Might scuff it up a little.

I am making some aluminum rocker guards. They will just be ornamental, and not actual sliders. I modified the built-in front bumper for now. Not sure that is going to fly as I go forward.

Thank you. I'm not sure about an interior right now. I have the tinted window kit. I think I'll roll with that for a bit.

I like it...clean and simple but sharp! Better with the black wheels. Is that a Tamiya body?

Yes. It is the Tamiya body. I really wanted to use the chrome spoke wheels but they just weren't working. Gives me an excuse for another build.

That looks awesome!

What is the wheel base of that body and what size wheels and tires are in the last pic?

Thank you. The wheelbase is 9.9" or 252 mm

1.9 Hot Racing wheels with 1.9 Tomahawks.

Cool, thanks for the info.

I've been working on a CFX with the LC40 body. I didn't like the small tires that came with the kit and thought that they looked funny on 1.9 wheels. I ended up picking up a set of RC4WD 1.55 stamped steel wheels and a set of RC4WD 1.55 Scramblers. The wheels don't clear the upright weights and the tires just look too small. The combo you're running looks about right. That Wrangler body has a similar profile to the LC40.

Another question. How did you mount the body?

I used the kit provided body posts. I cut the tops off of them and epoxied magnets to them. Then I epoxied identical magnets to the body.

I'm on vacation right now or I'd take a picture for you.

Oh sorry i explained them in my thread. Basically i bent the tube into a U, and threaded M4 screws into the tube through a hole i drilled in the frame rail.
