Default New to cmx

Is there any must upgrade parts? Or parts to keep on hand. Is the stock motor any good? Better or worse than the axial 27t silver can?

For the short wheelbase there is metal links and shocks.

I have those and running a RC4WD 35T motor on a AE-5 ESC.
This is now my Favorite Wheeler.

I have that setup on order hopefully it arrives before Thanksgiving. I currently have the stock esc and motor. Is the esc worth using till I can get a better one?

The only must-upgrade part on the crawler is the driveshafts, and maybe the stock gears in the cmx, ive seen a few stripped sets. I have had 0 problems with my links and shocks, they are holding up way better than driveshafts for me

I have the CFX and need to upgrade to the metal links. I purchased metal pivot ball because the plastic ones are terrible. If you over tighten or use pliers on the they deform. Super soft plastic. I haven’t done my shaft yet I have been working on some scale stuff. I have a chassis mounted servo bracket I created for the front. It is 3d printed. If interested I can post it on Thingiverse or Shapeways. It has a panhard bracket built in and used your existing parts. I also designed a battery box and esc tray that I’ll post pics of soon. I love this truck. It has been a fun build.

I have 2 MST CFX and one CMX and I like them, one CFX was shortened to fit a Barbie Jeep (its in the 1.9 section) and it’s gotten lots of use and even one comp. it’s only issue has been front driveshafts and one CVD broken, but I’m petty sure most of that was too much steering throw that I have since limited

The other CFX is getting a D90 hard body so no issues yet since it’s only been driven in the house.

The CMX has the Tamiya Bronco body and it’s a good performer, the transmission is really noisy...

Here is the chassis servo mount I designed. I can make it available if people are interested in it. I can make available on shapeways and Thingiverse. The panhard bar is the top left front link. And the servo was positioned to use the existing steering rod without modification.

I picked up the brood insanity 35t motor. Hopefully it isn't too fast for this build.

Should be good, my kid has a 45t in his bronco and he runs 2s and I have an 85t and it’s too slow even on 3s. I have a 55t to install this winter

I got a set of small flatirons and some 1.9 wagon wheels I hope they are not too big. I also hope they will work well with a light truck

I had to trim the Bronco wheel openings pretty big to fit 4.20 Flatirons...

Highly against the rules. I got barked at for saying something similar.

I certainly did not mean to break any rules. I was trying to be helpful. Where do I find the rules for posting? I don’t want to get myself in trouble.
