| It was done for a few reasons. The main reason was to offer a safer Li-po pack for the vast amount of vehicles coming to market with water tight electronics. Second was that if what does become trapped inside the pack it leads to corrosion around the tabs and wires. The third reason is that if water were to get pass the foam seal around the tabs you don't want to be around the pack. Water and lithium do not mix. You get a very aggressive explosion/fire that water won't put out. Third reason for doing it is that now the tabs and wires are protected from possible short issues if the pack happened to take an impact on that end of the pack. Our water tight packs can be used with out worry of water hurting them or you. Jason |

Good thing the lithium in packs is bound to Cobalt oxide so it can't react A pack that has been overdischarged will have Lithium oxide however (very vigorous reaction with water), so it is certainly a good idea to keep water away from lithium cells for safety. Great Idea Maxamps! This will be great for a lot of people, especially around here | |
