Default RolandRockshop's Monsta Truck build

ive always wanted a monster truck..
and the wraith axles are sooo versatile..

so why not??



Chassis..
HR wk alum chassis
HR 91mm links for braces
custom delrin skid

Axles..
Axial wraith axles with open diffs ,38/13 R/P
Hpi steel open diff gears (on the way)
Axial open diff gears
Axial diff housing
Strc steering links
Hr knuckles and c-hubs
Axial universal's up front
Axial stock dog bones in rear

Tranny..
alum HR gears
32p gears 54-60t
14-17t pinion

Shocks..
Strc alum silver wraith shock bodies
Axial wraith shocks
30-40wt shock oil

Links..
ill be shooting for 14in wb
so stay tuned..

Elec..
mamba max pro
motor?
2x hitec 5995tg servo's
cc bec
2s or 3s lipo @ 3300mah

wheels/tires..
Tamiya super clod wheels with Vp slw mod
Rc4wd "Rumble" clod tires w stock foams
Vp slw 600 hubs

body..
still undecided on body..??

so i threw the clod wheels/tires on the southern buggy..

i was lil hasty when i was drilling out the clod wheels...
almost ruined 2 of them..

so ill be ordering another set.


i was gonna go with the rc4wd delrin clod beadlocks..but..
they weigh @ 7.16oz each combined with the clod tires(9.75oz)
would be @1lb each..
and im trying to stay as light as possible with this build.

you could make up some ''EQR'' wheels. Clear linkages, not to much offset and look good

Inside of a clodwheel glued to a traxxas monster jam pede wheel (use fron't on a ar60)

Good start. I suggest the Parma 57 truck body or a K5 blazer.

ross is going old school body...
dunno what szczerba is going to use..

its gonna be on its lid every now and then..
so lets just face facts..the body will have to be stout.


i have an old hpi 69 camaro body ill probably use for temp body.


im open to all suggestions..

You could always go with a proline short course body. Those things will take a hell of a beating.

i asked ross for a picture of his with a shortcourse body on it...



doesnt look that bad if ya ask me..body is right inline with center of tires.

eh..
it doesnt really matter what the bodies wheelbase is,as long as its close.

i like the engine in the rear.


im thinkn a usa flag themed paint job...

Yea its big azz engine in the bed that has me always wanting to use that body, just haven't had the right project yet.

Remember the old USA-1 monster truck from back in the day?

I am thinking a Proline Suburban, Proline Chevy Silverado, Proline Bulldog (ekk!) or a short course body.
