I don't have a set yet so I googled how long they are and found 145mm. Now after you talking about them being longer I looked it up again and find 165mm. Maybe there was more than one length?

That could be since there have been so many versions of the truck. Now I need to do some digging. I really like the long shock look but I can only stuff so much under the body before my ride height is going to get stupid.

Yeah ride height is a concern for me as well. I'm building a mega truck, not a mud truck. Since it is a race truck it has to corner. I am going to run front and rear sway bars, are you?

100% agree, mega truck not big mud truck. Huge power and reasonable handling.

I would like to run sway bars, but I am concerned with the scale appearance. I would like to run some Axial style bars but I'm not sure if they are heavy enough for this truck.

So it looks like the E-Savage has 145mm shocks. #82055 Aluminum Threaded Shock Set (98-145mm/e-savage)

The lower rod ends are really long so you could lose some length there with traxxas ends.

The plastic E-Savage set is listed as 145 as well. http://www.horizonhobby.com/products...-esav-HPI82048

The plastic E-Savage set is listed as 145 as well. hpi-racing Shock Set 98-145mm (4): ESAV (HPI8204 | Horizon Hobby - Radio Control R/C Planes, RC Airplanes, RC Helis and Helicopters, RC Cars, RC Trucks, RC Truggys, RC Boats, RC Radios, RC Engines, parts, hop-ups, and accessories
I was going to guess that the e-savage would have been the one.

Ok well that gives me something to search for. I'd like to find a nice looking set, that has some color coordination

What foam are you using in these wheels? I glued my front rims together before the tire (OOPS brain fart) and have cut off my access to put foams in. I am hoping the tire will be stiff enough to work anyway.

I am having some custom foams made. I think foams are going to be as important as the tire itself. A stiff foam will be a must in my opinion.

I'm hoping to do a set of closed cell foams. The waterproof feature will be extremely important. The OD of the tires is very similar to some of the popular 2.2 tires so modifying a set of his existing Deuces Wild foams will likely be possible.

This truck definitely needs something to fill that empty pickup bed. I found the solution.

I also welded on all of my shock mounts. Now I have to wait for the shocks to show up. I will extended the wheelbase when they arrive.

Coming along.

Does supershafty still (or did) make the 8mm AX10 outputs? After just working with some twin force axles that axle pinion output shaft is large! You may have already mentioned that.

They sure do! I have them sitting right here ready to go in my Orange splatter case!

You could run a sway bar that mounts in a different way. It would be one solid piece saped like [

Fasten it to the inside of the lower link, run towards the skidplate and make a bend to run across skidplate and follow other lower link. It would be kinda tricky to mount it to the skidplate in a way that cycles with the suspension, but could be hidden better than the axial style.

If you attach them to two places on the lower links then you don't need to attach it to the skid actually. Just like the old TXT was setup. That's an option that I never really thought about.

I have used a bent "U" shaped coat hanger zip tied to the lower links. It was temporary but worked.

First thing I did today was assemble my transmission with the Super Shafty 8mm outputs, my Super Shafty/Harley/Vanquish case, Beefy Top Shaft, and Robinson Stage 3 slipper.

Today I welded in my skid plate as well as a kicker in the front of the skid to keep from digging in when in the mud at speed.
