Szczerba's 2.2 TTC Truck

Found this on the internets and I couldnt let it go.

Mnstrbetle made it. All custom and mostly AL metal work.

How I got it.

All the work in the pictures goes to Mnstrbetle. I have some plans for it though.

It is super nice and well built.

Cab work last few nights. I am no styrene builder but it covers what it needs to cover.
Double, triple and quad layered 0.060. Ties into existing holes.

Proportion is all in the eye of the builder - You build cool Shit so I highly doubt this will be any different.

I am torn between the TTC cartoon look with 2.2 pit bulls or a narrowed up axle, shortened wheelbase/bed chop job more scalish look with Mil-Specs. The cab, hood and bed are a little ill proportioned for a smaller tire if I don't shorten the wb, track width and bed.

Plans are to:
Get the cab done, white looks good on it now. 0.060 styrene doubled, tripled and quad layers used so far
Rework the steel sub frame to beef it up
Sliders and minor tube work here and there
Add more detail to the front grill

I put the U4's on it and they seemed too small. Bigger pits seem to fit it well. Looking at the 5.8" Baja Radial Claws too.

It doesn't even look TTC, just looks right.
But I am use to big farm tires on stock unimogs and such.

Any plans to change the link set up on her? I can see those axles walking around already....

Ordered the 5.8" tall TTC Baja Radials today. We'll see how those look and work. Chatting with Duuuuuuuude about some wheels too.

The link setup looks to be good upon quick stares. What are you seeing?
I do not like the subframe lower than the link mounts. The trans cant go up further so Ill probably build mini front/rear skids to bridge the gap of link mounts and skid. Ill figure it out when I get there.

It looks like there is no triangulation of the uppers in the rear.
That with the lack of separation will cause axle walk, side to side, and front to rear as the axle flexs.
In toy trucks I don't think it's as much of a deal as 1:1s, but my rat rod would only climb on 3 wheels, (raise a front tire to the sky) and that was the only thing I could blame it on.

Yea, all that will get tweaked. These are just stock wraith axles too with stock upper link mounts, etc.

Yeah. The Ottsix U4's were just a tad small, IMO.
Cant wait for the 5.8 Radial Claws to show up.
