Playing with my smt 10 First thing I did was a mmp and a castle 3800 set up then promptly put hot racing trans gears in. Lol.but with the bkt tires it works great. We'll it will still do a standing back flip but drivable. Also the tactic rx sucks it went out like right away, well that could have been my not unplugging the battery while it sat for a hour and the castle bec dieing. I was bummed. Oh these smt 10 trucks become a mega truck if you apply 2.2 mud basher xl's but it become so stupid wheel stand back flip happy it's scary. It is by far my favorite rc ever. Oh been breaking drive lines like it's a job. Broke all 4 lower links, 2 shock caps, 2 stock wheels, stock rx from the bec going bad i think. good thing I've got lots of spare stuff from my rr wraith build. If I knew how to post a pic I would. |
Re: Playing with my smt 10 Well trying Battery in the front to combat super wheel stands but with battery in the front braking becomes a issue. I owe my wraith so much it's sad looking. But Is it normal for a bec to die if plugged in to a battery to long |
Re: Playing with my smt 10 Well took I took digger to the dunes with the mud bashers and found a couple great jumps like 20 feet up 40 to 50 feet in distance. Actually didn't break anything even though I couldn't keep the mud bashers on the beads to save my life. One of the jumps I really wanted to hit the landing but couldn't get the distance I was like 2 feet short. It was a awesome step down that was like 45 feet long and 20 feet down. I'm a dune rat so I know where the jumps are for the time of the year. Next time I'll get pictures. |
Re: Playing with my smt 10 Well put a front sway bar on and finished plating the front links. We'll see what breaks next. I'm excited about the 2.2 destroyers. But tomorrow I hope to run the dog weed out of it. |
Re: Playing with my smt 10 Well I guess it's time for anothere body mines hurting. Like 4 or 5 cracks. |
Re: Playing with my smt 10 Sounds like you're enjoying your new truck.Ive been seriously thinking of picking one of these up.Really don't need another rig to dump a lot of money into.Recently picked up the Tamiya BlackFoot 2016 re-release.Had one back in 1987.Just had to have it.Enjoy your new rig.Post up some pics of your new body when you get one. |
Re: Playing with my smt 10 I'm seriously thinking about a lean blackfoot body had a black foot as a child and loved it. Or a crew cab long bed superduty. Oh I do enjoy that little truck. Got my wheels today. So excited |
Re: Playing with my smt 10 Well it seem to roll over more with the front sway bar but I can do reverse wheelies. The 3d printed wheels seem stout but haven't really tested them. I'm getting a better rx and TX. What should I do next to the little truck??? |
Re: Playing with my smt 10 Went outside and broke the servo saver so I stole the arm off my wraith or what's left of it. Then proceeded to break the steering arm. Wheely to wall ride on the shed is a bad idea just for future reference. I do believe my wife doesnt think it was as awesome as I did |
Re: Playing with my smt 10 Well went to the beach/jetty yesterday had blast till the rear end went boom so did the servo in like 30 second of one another. But I attached some images of josh4x4toyz 3d printed wheels I've been doing my best to break but nothing. I was jumping jetty rocks and landing in the sand. The rig took that but dry sand to log back flips broke the rear rig and pinion. The servo I believe is general bashing. |
Re: Playing with my smt 10 2 Attachment(s) I hope these upload |
Re: Playing with my smt 10 Well I got a futaba pls TX and it is awesome it's so much more controllable than the rtr stuff. Well on to the smt10 so I got a new servo because jumping the jetty rock stuck it the sand is hard on them from my best guess. I got a power hd bls2509h it's fast and strong. But it broke the ears off one side in like two minutes of run time. The wiener dog got in a battle with it (this is normal and the stock tactic servo took this slight abuse). So I zip tied and servo taped it down it works for the time being. Kinda really mad but atomic rc should make it right, I hope. Well I took it to a Sandy bay edge close to my house and ran it for a pack nothing crazy just testing my jerry rigged servo and awesome new controller. But it felt like a new rig with the brushless fast servo. The trip ended with another cracked drive line. Ps in the Sand switch the rear tires direction and it hooks up better |
