I got the white wheels. I kinda wish I would have gotten the grey (they're not silver like JConcepts claims). My plan is to get grey Tribute wheels with Renegade tires. That way I have options. Don't forget to paint or dye your planetary center caps! |

| Re: New JConcepts Monster Truck Tires/wheels I have the blue Firestorms. They don't feel sticky to me, but that's comparing them to crawler and racing tires. I don't have any experience with racing MTs. How do they compare to Proline Destroyers? I would think the blue JConcepts are softer and stickier than the Destroyers since, if my memory serves me correctly, they are M3 compound. What was the go-to racing tire before the ProLine and JConcepts tires? |

The RC4WD Rumble was and still is the go to for many including myself. Gold Renegades and Rumbles are very similar.

| Re: New JConcepts Monster Truck Tires/wheels Interesting. I always assumed MT's would use softer tires. It kind of makes sense that they don't though. Softer tires offer less support and with the high COG of MT's you worry more about traction rolling. That's my newb thinking anyway.

| Re: New JConcepts Monster Truck Tires/wheels Correct, on dirt its not as big a deal but on carpet too much traction is trouble.

Just saw these on Amain so I think they are relatively new: aluminum hubs for Tribute wheels. Should solve any stripped hex issues. https://www.amainhobbies.com/jconcep...co2401/p638295 |

Cost to make has a lot to do with cost to buy. VP runs their own machines so I'd be willing to bet that has a LOT to do with it.

I've not stripped the hexes on my wheels yet. I have to say, the Jconcepts Tribute and Renegades are a better fit and finish than the Proline Brawlers and destroyers. Lighter too. Only one wheel needed balancing and that was really minor so I didn't bother. I'd be dubious about running those 25mm hubs on AR60s. I'd be worried about the axles bending where the pin hole is, like we see on other AR60 trucks running heavy wheels and extenders. Last edited by mond; 05-30-2017 at 11:46 PM. |

tribute wheels are junk, only ran about 5 minutes and all 4 hexes stripped out and all 4 wheel nuts were still tight, i'm only running a 2680kv motor. if you look at the back side of the hex hub they are hollow inside around the hex area. now gotta spend another 50 dollars for the aluminum hubs, so that makes wheels come to 100.00 for plastic wheels, on top of that everyone is out of stock, great! |

The second I saw the concepts wheels I felt they are total fail, small 12mm hubs, random narrow bead that needs glue/dont fit clod tires with no foams, and overall a weak design Im not a fan of rc4wd or there heavy delrin wheels but they are way better and fit all tires and hubs
