SMT10 sway bar relocation Would like to change out the "yeti" links to something a bit more scale. I understand to do that I would have to figure something out with the sway bar. Anyone come up with a creative way to install it while still running to the axle? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: SMT10 sway bar relocation It wouldn't be too hard. You'll just have to find something, similar to a clamping servo horn, to pinch the lower links and have a mounting spot for the sway bar link. Something similar to this: http://www.mdcvacuum.com/graphics/mdc/img7262.jpg |
Re: SMT10 sway bar relocation What about the Yeti AR60 link mount, AX31433. |

I was thinking something a long the lines of a dual shock mount for the ar60. Not sure if the movement of the sway bar would conflict with the shock? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: SMT10 sway bar relocation The wraith front sway bar works if you drill through the farthest back "bar" on the truck. It just barely clears the shocks in the classic location (on axle). I'll try to get pics, as I've just recently done this. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk |

Re: SMT10 sway bar relocation The links are custom, not sure how well the links that come with the wraith front sway will work. The ones pictured are 20mm axial links with txt-2 end links. I changed to those recently and there's some contact. Might have to play around with the ends to clear well. Also, be sure to space the shocks out on the top. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk |

I am anxious to see what the aftermarket comes up with. You would assume that Axial has put some thought into alternative sway bar locations given the multiple shock mounts. It will probably be something that will get released as part of the kit. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: SMT10 sway bar relocation Crawford performance engineering makes a nice scale looking sway bar ,and its cheap ,i just ordered two for mine,i will post some feed back when i get them installed. |

Re: SMT10 sway bar relocation 2 Attachment(s) both sway bars MODDED. the shocks have changed multiple times since this picture, but sway bars have not. 3mm PTFE washers on frame side of sway bars, helps keep them tight with ZERO bind. Note- the shocks are still mounted in same locations, but oil changes, and little tweaks to make them much softer. ( fan of the soft setup on this truck ) |

Re: SMT10 sway bar relocation stock OEM axial shocks. (smt10) i happen to like the stock shocks, but the lower cap is a pain. tried all types of methods, but in the end its still a pain. The plastic threaded insert offers the best of both worlds IMO. its soft enough not to scratch the shock shafts, flexible to prevent bends, and is always exposed to the shock oil. the Axial o-rings are junk though, and i switched to PTFE spacers and 3 O-rings instead of the 2 o-rings and plastic spacer. The oil used is a oddball type too, 50CST weight, so its like water. soft enough to work. if you going for a similar setup, then give a few things a try, see pictures below. the springs are the softest Axial makes for the smt10. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...5ee30beb33.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...0d0dd61493.jpg Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk |
Re: SMT10 sway bar relocation On my Kids trucks, i kept it simple, but the boots do work well, after a little adjustment. ( seriously extendes time between rebuilds ) this picture shows the boots/mounted. The truck is undergoing a screw swap, and associated parts to prevent future failures. beef tubes, gears all around, Motor rebuilds with waterproof mods, shimmed transmission, coilspring servo-saver, etc..... the kids Can really push componets to failure, so this should help prevent some. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...ed1db23bdf.jpg Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk |
Re: SMT10 sway bar relocation not sure if these will work, but cant hurt to find out. the driveshafts collect so much dirt, that I Am hoping these keep it clean. sorry there, i went off on a random rant! . https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...99622eeb6a.jpg Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk |
