I'm thinking of giving this one a Ground Pounder chassis. Thoughts on that chassis? To me it looks the part, but I don't know about the geometry or the durability of it. |

Lookin' good so far! And as for the MIP's.... man, I've got some older ones that are not rusted at all from a different kit. They're the skinnier CVD axles, so maybe they use different steel. That thing sat on a bench outside in my garage, which probably isn't the best place but I'm married so there is no such thing as an "inside" RC car. |

There's also the Hot Racing or Integy replacement of the stock chassis. I know, I know it's China. But currently I think the Deadbolt/Ridgecrest chassis is too light as is. It almost needs additional sprung weight to make the suspension work better. Quote:
No biggie. I was just seeing if it was a common issue with everybody and that appears to be the case. Do you remember the weight of the oil in these shocks? Last edited by JatoTheRipper; 02-01-2017 at 03:43 PM.

Yep, 47.5wt Associated all around. As far as chassis'.... Friends don't let friends buy Intejunk. Ever, get that one out of the picture. the HR is alright but isn't boat sided like the original. I personally was going to go with the CPE Barbarian: Crawford Performance Engineering : CPE-BAR1AL: Axial Wraith Barbarian Race Chassis - Aluminum - $109.99 Solid performer and a proven solid axle design. |

I would keep stock chassis and if you must get something else get a CPE barbarian or ares.

I've had my eye on the Barbarian for a while, but a bad experience with CPE made write that chassis off.

Any suggestions where I should start with shock oil knowing I'm going to stick with the stock chassis for now? I was thinking something along the lines of 30 or 35 weight. I'm still waiting for parts. Thanks to UPS and USPS my orders from both RPP and Tower have been delayed. |

I bought a bunch of upgrades for this truck to give it 4 wheel steering. I've never had an RC with 4WS so this will be a first for me. Not shown are the Axial universals and a two ProLine Brawler wheels. The original owner bought two JConcepts Tribute wheels and two Brawlers to see which he liked better. That's when he discovered that the JConcepts beads are different than the Proline beads. So I bought two more Brawlers for the Destroyers. These aren't my favorite looking tires, but I'm anxious to see how they perform. I'm going to keep the two spare JConcepts Tributes and order a second pair as well as a set of Renegade tires. Rear beforehand: Rear afterwards. I "love" how the VP anodized grey isn't even close - truss vs C-hubs and knuckles. WTH? The VP tierod was also way too short. As you can see in the picture I had to unscrew the rod ends quite a bit. Another awsome VP feature. :P I cleaned and coated the MIP driveshafts in Ballistol and they look much better. |

Can't buy better servos and servo savers are extremely sloppy, especially with the big tires. Nobody makes a good heavy duty servo saver.
