Poll: Monster Truck or Mega Truck?

I know it's up to me, but I still wanted to get thoughts on the body options I'm looking at, with my MAX-D chassis. Originally, I was going to set it up as a Mega/Trail truck, and the Honcho body looked perfect for that, but just the other day I mocked it up with this toy Cadillac Escalade hard body, which fit surprisingly well.

Using the toy Escalade would warrant a monster truck setup, though. Overall, I'm not fully persuaded that I would do much mega-trucking or trailing, anyways, so I'm essentially up in the air on this one.

As is always the case, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

You might want to stick with the mega truck idea just because you have those nice tires already.

Yeah, I just saw this on Instagram, which, I think, supports keeping the mega/mud truck look, with the Escalade body.

Been awhile, and it appears that I never updated this thread with the Halloween body I painted, but we were busy searching for and buying a new home. Well, here's the last body I did, which I didn't get to run (maybe next year). The chassis didn't even have a transmission in it, because I yanked it to put in the SCX10 II Honcho I was building up.

Coming up, next, will be a backyard field truck? We bought our new home late in the year, after the rains set in, and since it's pretty steep, it'll have to remain uncut until next spring. The previous owners let it go for the entire last summer, it seems, because it's so overgrown that it's very much like meadow grass, and when you step in it it feels like a sponge. I've driven a couple of scale 1.9 rigs all the way down to the bottom of the yard and back, but I had to keep the throttle on or else they probably would've gotten stuck. Watching them navigate that deep matted grass was like watching a boat on wavy seas, which led me to start thinking about what other RC might be more capable, and my SMT10 popped in my head (only because I have no Traxxas Summit ).
I think the plan will be to lock the front axle only, and leave the rear unlocked. I ordered a factory painted prographix Traxxas T-Maxx body, to help keep the weight down, because I think an overall lightweight rig will allow it to sort of sail over that deep, thick grass. Should be fun.
