Default 1/6 polycarbonate MT build

So after completing many varied builds, I've once again found myself embarking on a 1:6 build, the basis of this build will be truggy running gear on a polycarbonate chassis

Something which I've never seen done before so I thought I'd try my hand at it.

May as well start somewhere, so chassis is first thing to be sorted.

Created a crude template DWG file for amari plastics to cut from

And I've tarted up a new bright hummer h2 body somewhat too.

Will update progress when chassis arrive

Here's part 2 of plastic fantastic build.

Inc its first maiden run!

Kept things civil as I noticed some snagging on launch, coming from front diff!

So spent over £100 on gears today! Going to under drive the rear with 33/8 as opposed to 43/10, effectively giving a 25% decrease ....should be interesting to test!!

Well she's still a WiP but she's getting there!

In this video I'm testing some new moly chrome spiral cut diff gears, new wheels etc.

Still needs work in areas!

P.s my throttle epa is set to 7 to curb wheelie action

FYI, a company back in the early 2000's called bomb proof products made an extended poly-carbonate chassis for the E-Maxx. Was during the infancy of brushless and still sing nimh batteries. They lowered the CG, allowed higher battery cell counts, and made the original E-Maxx more stable.

Good luck on your project.

Yeah I saw them, I think they used a combination of alloy and polycarbonate for the chassis itself ....
