I just got the tribute wheels for my SMT10. Did you use the longest offset adaper for both the front and rear wheels?

Yes, I believe so. It's been a while.

Did you end up contacting axial about the transmission issue? Curious as to what they would do/say

I have watched your video series via your Reddit posts. I picked up an smt10 at Christmas last year and finally unboxed it yesterday. I went ahead and put in some metal trans gears a castle combo and swapped out the radio to a futaba I thought I had a Bec but must have repurposed it. Anyway. This is all in anticipation of a new event series I'm hoping to participate in this year. Thanks for your builds I'm hoping to slowly bullet proof this one for a 3300kv setup and your series has great info

Nah, wasn't worth it. Was going to upgrade it anyway.

I actually need to get a video of this out. I had one running session, but the video turned out terrible, and I couldn't really get any good footage. I'll have to run and re-shoot it soon hopefully.

Nice little video. I don't know why MTs lost their appeal. You won't find a funner RC.

I wonder what happened to creeperbob. I sure wouldn't mind getting some of his axles for these beasts. I can see those big wheels stressing the axles quite a bit.

I searched the site. It looks like he's gone AWOL a few times over the years. Here's the most recent thread I found about it.

Creeperbob

I used Vanquish axles and I have no complaints.

Some reviews of it said that the tangs were too long and interfered with the open diffs? Did you have to grind it down? I already have to grind down whatever axles have a large ring after the tangs, because I'm using axle tubes. The only reason I'm using Boom Racing axles right now is because they fit the tubes.

The Vanquish axle tangs are too long. I measured roughly 1.2mm longer, this causes the tang to hit the cross pin for the planetary. You won't be able to get the lock out on because of this. It only takes a few minutes with a dremel to grind them down so they fit.

These two pictures show how far the tang engages for a stock and Vanquish axle.

After grinding down...

I only bent a stock axle after landing on one rear tire like a pogo stick, but this was after 10+ packs of jumps in my back yard. I'm using XtraSpeed axles, so my rig is pretty heavy... 9lbs with no battery. The Vanquish axles i measured at 4.74mm vs the stock Axial at 3.94mm

The SuperShafty axles should fit like stock and they also already have that round portion ground down to fit axle tubes.

just 2S 5000mah. I don't want to get that crazy with it. Just enough giddyup to have some fun.

Sweet, would be cool to check it out.

I'm still trying to decide what body to get for the Max-D. I don't want to ruin the body as it's discontinued.

I had the same thought, shelved the Max-D body right out of the box. I really wanted to do a Big Foot but i couldn't find anywhere that had decals. All the places that used to make them stopped due to copyright issues. I decided to just do an Excalibur theme with the Chevy Snoop Nose. I really wanted to do the Parma Samson body, but its for a really short wheel base (like 4 inches shorter than stock lol).

J-Concepts has a bunch of options available and check out MCI Racing for decals.

I definitely had to grind mine down.
