Had an issue with the little grub screws that come with the Hot Racing Drive shaft rounding waaaay too easy (I'm using MIP hex drivers so that's not the problem). I contacted the seller on Ali Express on the off chance they might send me some replacements and they send me this "rebuild" kit |

The stock brushed motor finally gave up the ghost yesterday. Time for some brushless power |

Ok, brushless time I got a couple of ESC's and motors 2nd hand a while back so it's time to use them. Going with a Castle Creations Sidewinder 3 and 3800Kv motor. Just had to solder an XT60 connector on the ESC. Also bought some 14, 15 and 16T Pinions as the new motor shaft is 5mm. Transmission out to mount motor ESC in place Both together I bought a brand new Castle Link to program the ESC on my computer. Pretty much everything at default for now except the drag brake is disabled. Has had 3 runs since I installed this and there has been a few casualties. Broken servo, the cap unwound off one of the Hot Racing drive shafts and the pin fell out and I lost a spring perch off one of the shocks despite it being cable tied on . All in all, it was to be expected as my Son and I were really sending it Have ordered new spring perches Will throw on my spare servo As for the drive shaft, I'm not a fan of the design in general. I was able to fix it using the rebuild kit I got but I'm going to order one of these and give it a go. It's less than half the price of getting my hands on MIP ones so worth a shot. |

Ok, so the GPM driveshafts gave up the ghost. I would recommend just using MIP ones Current state of disrepair * Broken rear driveshaft. Moved the front one to the back and it's current rwd * Screw backed out of the top of the knuckle and it disappeared along with the little bushing it goes through. Going to just get some of these as an upgrade |

Random update. Threw the Hot Racing driveshafts back on and they're still holding up. If\when they die, I'll be putting MIP's on. Replaced the stock knuckles with some GPM ones. Latest casualty was a bearing in the rear diff disintegrating. New bearings and washers to shim Was fun cleaning out the housing to get rid of all the little bits of metal |
