Tough solid axles?

Hello, I want to turn my TrX4 into an MT and have the very heavy all aluminum MT wheels. Everyone says I will break my current axles and AR60s because the wheels are so heavy. Can anyone suggest what to use for axles. I am almost considering getting a Mad Crusher and buying the RC4WD adapters for my wheels. I have doubts the TRX4 will hold up to the added weight.

Freestyle RC. But be prepared to pay $400 for a set of axles.

Axles

Which wheels are you using?

Use plastic wheels.

I just bought a set of the PL brawler wheels n PL destroyer tires. For a complete set its lil over $140 shipped. Or you could buy them seperate n may get them a tad cheaper

Twin force axles

I'd really consider not using metal wheels. You'll increase the weight considerably which means potentially bent axles on bad landings and add considerable drive line strain.

I will just use them for the pulling sled only with no jumping. The weight will help keep the truck planted.

I wsnt to revisit this post and get opinions on what anyone thinks is the best scale truck axle. I have a SCX10.2 and a TRX4. I want to make an MT or mega out of one of them. Or should I I just get the CEN MT coming out?

Re: Tough solid axles?

As far as axles go, im usin ar60s. I bought a set of stock axles n a set of aluminum housings. Just swapped the internals over. Ive got HR diff covers, vanquish aluminum knuckles (cracked stock where steering screws are), n used stock braces. They work great n good n strong. Like i mentioned in earlier post, im runnin proline brawler wheels n proline destroyer tires. If u look here in the mega/monster truck section ive got a build thread on mine. Its scx10/ax10 based. May give u some ideas for buildin yourshttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...4639647880.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...e1a2161002.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...ff4c22fc84.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...bb60147165.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...17c1f2d63d.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...e9986f0642.jpg

Sure: PARTS FOR TRX-4Front Axle Portal Delete Kit for TRX-4 , but having gear reduction at the wheel is a major part of what makes TRX4 axleshafts and gears stand up to abuse as well as they do.

$60 for the front, $35 for the rear. Not terribly expensive (not at all really) considering the parts included, but I'm still not sure how they (the TRX4 housings/shafts/gears) would hold up to monster truck use.

Yeah considering the Axial Ar60's are decent with beeftubes I figured traxxas would be a tad better because Traxxas plastics are far superior to Axials.
