Default Mega/Mud Truck Build

Thought I would start a thread on my new build. Axial scx10ii builders kit
Strc chassis lift kit
120mm Desert Lizard shocks
Jconcepts Fling King Tires
Jconcepts 79 Ford body

Still need to fab up sway bars, and servo on axle mount. Steering really isn't a big deal so I am shooting around the idea of steering like the original Wheely King or the new Cen Rc MT. I like the look of the hidden servo. Still a lot to do, very early stages.

Good lookin truck u got there! Wats your wheelbase? I like that body, but it said it was 11" wb i think. So i went with the supercab for the 12.3" wb. But the supercab is a tad longer than 12.3"

Its 11.4 wheelbase. It works. Cool thing about mega trucks and monster trucks the wheelbase doesn't need to match the body. This one is really close though.

Gen 1 and 2 share the same chassis

I may have to go this route with my old Proline Blazer body.

Grabbed a BPC axle servo mount. (Got the different axle housing on the way) although it fits tight without the front screws in. I added a couple zip ties for insurance but honestly it survived a major bash session with no problems. Also these wheely king tires perform flawlessly with the stiff suspension set up I'm running. 0 torque steer running Reedy 3500kv brushless setup. This thing is fun to drive. #jconcepts #megatruck #mudtruck #scx10ii #axial #wheelyking #hpi #

Looking good! Have you thought about how cable-driven steering might work on one of these? I see you already went with an axle-mounted servo so this is more of a general question based on your original thoughts about doing a hidden servo.

Thanx, it would be a similar steering setup to the wheely king or the new Cen racing trucks. No cables, just links. Also like the Clodbuster.

Did you put a spacer in the rear between the axial chassi and the aluminum lift kit? I am getting mine together and looks like one of the spacers provided in lift kit will fit in between there.

Through the Cenracing Hl150 MT tires on her. These are 5" tall, same as WK. Gonna grab a set I think they look perfect.

Was asking if you used a spacer between axial steel chassi and the lift kit on the ends. Since the axial chassi has a curve to it.

Oh gotcha, nah I didnt worry about that. Just bolted them together pulling in the lift plate to match curve.
