Default Toe in,,, help/advice

converting a SMT10 to 4 wheel steer. The standard steering linkage rod and the upgraded one give a good amount of toe in.

The same set up is on the rear also ,so this will have built in toe in. Is this ok OR do I need zero toe in

Side note, The upgrade steering linkage says its for ,Wraith,rr10 and smt10. I am surprised by the amount of toe in, does a MT benefit or need toe in????

The other Axial products use the same AR60 differential so it fits all of them.
Slight toe in on the front keeps a vehicle a bit more stable at high speeds. In the rear it would actually be toe out(flipping the diff around would make it opposite) would it not? Not sure what options you have or if it will even matter all that much. its a monster truck not a race car just drive it!! lol

If I was setting up a monster truck I'd likely set it up with zero toe or possibly even a little toe-out for improved cornering.

I don't think toe-in reverses on rear steer, as far as I know it references direction of travel, not which way the diff is oriented.

If the factory setup is toed in, then turning it around 180° to fit on the back would create a toe out situation on the rear would it not?

Most steering linkages i have found are not adjustable so you may be stuck with what you get.

Well now I'm confused, lol...

I think what you're saying is correct.

I wasn't thinking about the stock link lengths, I was only thinking about the actual wheels orientation relative the frame and the direction of travel..

10 minutes ago I would've expected to be saying you need custom links to properly set-up rear steer now but I'm not so sure what would be "correct"..

That was what I thought, using all standard parts on the rear axle gives "toe-out" . I did not know if MT`s need that with 4ws?
With toe-out if just looks wrong, looks like it will work against the steering.
I have found stuff on line regards setting up the radio for various steering options BUT nothing about toe-in.
Think I will lengthen the steering linkage rod slightly to get no toe at all for rear.
I have had to shorten the servo linkage rods to get the servo centred while wheels are straight.
