| Power Plant
I've got my truck built and Now it's time to get it running but my go to seems to be out of stock everywhere and I'm concerned when it does will it still have the support or quality. Being my first Mega truck I'm not sure how much I need so I'll ask, What powers your mud truck? Is a brushed system enough to clear a mud pit? Brushless is always better but living in water is it What KV is minimum 3300? |

There are lots of factors that go into this. What battery are you using? What chassis and drivetrain are you using? You can get sensored, brushless motors in waterproof these days. Holmes Hobbies and Tekin both make them and they're awesome. 3300kv to 3800kv is a good start, but, again, it depends on your overall gearing, battery, etc. |

Holmes offers a combo with a mamba X but his pullers jump from a 3300 to a 4500kv.. I've thought about a 1515 geared high but being a 2200kv would it be enough on 3s. Never jumped up to be big boy motor so I'm lost in the power they have and if you could gear that for a Mega truck without destroying the truck..

3000kv on 3 s is enough for jumping mud slinging action. I used a 4 pole 3000kv non senseored motor in this truck and was happy with the speed and power. While not "basher" fast it was fun in a floppy mud truck action way. Wish I had a vid.... I'm putting on a 3 challenge mud based comp this May. Mud pit, hill climb and an obstacle course that driver is not allowed to make changes to truck between. What you start with you end with so I'm struggling on a well rounded mud slinging but smooth system that is in stock.. lol

Have you looked into the Tekin Roc waterproof series? They have a 3100kv 4 pole... https://www.amainhobbies.com/tekin-r...saArYtEALw_wcB |

Tekin is a little more then I want to spend. I found a mambaX and 1406 3800 in stock so I went with it. It's not the motor I wanted but I did want the mamba and it will get me some testing to see which direction I need to go..

is sensored really that important for something that's going to be seeing so much constant wheel speed? If I was building something like that, I'd probably just grab an unsensored Hobbywing ESC and a nice 3500-4000kv 550 can.

| Re: Power Plant It is when it will be seeing just as much slow as fast. Also I think about the future and if this don't last I can use the system in another crawler instead of being stuck with a clogging mess..
