Default axle

It appears that most of the chassis kits are engineered around the AR60 OCP axles.

So other than Axial who make a decent compatible complete front and rear axles?

I've found some Asian versions on Ebay but after reading reviews they don't seem to rate well.

I'm thinking about buying two AR60 OCP axle kits and making a 4 x 4 x 4.
Axial sells the kits:

Axial Racing - AR60 OCP Front Axle Set (Complete)

You can also buy a F/R set from CPE, outfit them as you wish.

Also to add to your other thread they have some pretty slick chassis’s as well

What kind of power are you going to be putting in the truck?

CPE doesn't seem to have any stock.

I looked at RC4WD as well and they don't have any Digger axles in stock.

I'm having a hard time accepting that custom housings with plastic Revo shafts inside is the answer. I have a T-maxx, and those shafts wear quickly, break easily, and you can't keep the through pins tight because the yokes are plastic. What am I missing hear?

I feel the MT community deserves a decent set of solid axles with 1/8 guts.

Do they sell metal "upgrade" parts for the T-max?

MIP makes shafts, but I'm not sure if they can be shortened easily enough to work on our application.

AR60's should hold up fine if you build them right. You can get metal housings from Vanquish or cheap housings from Xtra Speed or Boom Racing. Or you can add Beef Tubes to the plastic axle housings. The open diffs are most problematic. I suggest you lock the rear and keep the front diff open.

Ya Axial really dripped the ball by leaving the AR60s the same. I ended up with a Kyosho Mad Crusher and its axles are like 3X thicker. Its a great truck.

On one hand I really don't like kyosho, but on the other I think they are the only ones making a solid axle with true 1/8 guts. I've seen split housings with them too though, so there is still plenty of room for improvement.

i agree with jato the metal ar60 with big bearings hold up realy well ive run the castle 15151/8th scale motor on 6s and the novak hd8 1/8 scale motor with a momba esc for years and dident break anything the biggest issue is wheel nuts coming loose and hex pins shearing both easy fixes
