| The backyard track
I know this is a crawling site but since I'm sure there are guys on here that have other types of r/c cars I wanted to post that I'll be opening up my track this sunday (9-27-09)for electric practice. I thought I have seen guys on here playing with slashes so if you have them bring em out. Some people might have seen my track on other r/c forums but those the haven't here's a pic. I'll have the track ready to go at 1:00pm. The adress is 5956 baldwin rd oxford,mi 48371. My brother and I have also recently started playing with crawlers. I have a bunch of rock that we are going build a course out of so if anyone wants to come out and give us some ideas that would be cool too. I've got a 150'x15' area on a hill thats already covered with rock of various sizes. I've got some rocks close to 3ft around/tall to add to it as well as some smaller 1-2 ft rocks. That's one serious track! You must have a huge piece of property there... and some heavy equipment.

Ok I added a few more pics to the first post. In the 3rd photo you can see one of my rock walls back in the tree row and another pile next to the track with weeds growing in them, they have since been moved. I don't have pics yet of the big rock covered hill. I'm hoping to get some sort of a crawler course set up this fall. The track has close to 8' in elevation change and in the neighborhood of 2000 yards of dirt. Oxford is located in north east oakland county. I actually live right at the county line (okland/lapeer line) about a mile off of m-24.

I went out to this track for the first time today, took my Brushless 1/8 scale and my slash. This is such a nice track, it flows really well and has some serious air available. I really enjoyed myself! When they get a purpose built rock course set up I have no doubt it will be top notch as well. I really wish I had taken my SCX10 too! |

I was hoping to run this weekend but I've got another track build to finish up. We were supposed to have the other track done last weekend but we got rained out and only got half the job done. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we'll still have some nice weather this fall. I'm planning on getting the new hpi blitz as soon as they hit the stores and I'd really like to get to run it on my track before the snow flies. I'll definitely let you guys know when I plan on opening the track up next.

Since I'll have a hpi blitz in my hands tomorrow (atleast ups tracking says I will) I was hoping to run this weekend but the weather doesn't look too good. If things dry out I might try and run sunday afternoon. If it looks like it's gonig to be nice and the track isn't too wet I'll try and open the track up to anyone that wants to come out. keep youe fingers crossed.
