| Building an indoor crawling course for us this winter in Burton, MI!
Yep, I have started working on an indoor crawling spot for this winter. Its in Burton, MI at my house. (Just east of Flint) Got the basement cleared out this morning. and started to gather materials. I am going to set it up with the course around the outside walls like Bob has in his garage. Any ideas would be great. Hope to be able to hold a comp every other Saturday. The start: |

| Crawling this winter???
Looks like you got the crappy stuff done. Building will probably be the fun part. Let us know when you are ready. I'm sure some of the Bay City people would love to come down. |

Well Aron (Slow1) and I made some progress today on the design. Need to pick up some supplies tomorrow to add more, but its coming along nicely. Also have a couple places lined up for tomorrow to pick up some broken concrete to use. Have more rocks outside as well, just didn't drag them all downstairs yet.

| Lookin good
Looks like you guys got a lot done. I think that bridges are a lot of fun to manuever onto and across. The ladder style are fun and give some aritculation as your crossing.

Looks good so far! Maybe some small logs and other obstacles would be fun too! I'm always looking for ways to add more fun to my course at home too. and I've crawled on everything from computer towers to hammocks!

Are you using quick crete as the base? I've been wondering how to do that.

its amazing how fast that stuff sets up eh. Looks good! I built an entire course in my basement using nothing but quick crete and foam, I made a base out of wood and foam chunks then just put quick crete over it all! Turned out darn good! Here's mine! |

LOL! It took me and a buddy of mine about 6-8 hours, really wasn't all that hard, went through about 13 bags of cement! Wished I would have used more expanded metal/chicken wire when building it and I would have used quite a bit less quickcrete. Its nothing special, but there are some purpose built lines on the course that determine whether or not my rig is set up properly. Works everytime! I just keep changing things till make the lines perfectly. Kinda nice I have my work bench on the other wall, so I can just tweak it and try it! You have ALOT more room to work with than I do so your course will be more Comp friendly! |
