| Waterproofin' my Wraith? Waterproof servos? Hey Guys, with the snow around the near corner, any thoughts and ideas on sealing up my Wraith for the winter runs? Already seemed to smoke one servo. Blew through several threads and did not really find a definite answer. All would be appreciated. Thanks |

Lots of ideas out there: - Pull servo appart (keep track where the gears/bushings/bearings/shafts go), use dielectric or non petroleum grease around the main output shaft. A good circle ring of it around that shaft that gets mashed when reassembled. - Before reassembling some people use dielectric grease around the circuit board. - some better servos have square seal rings in case seperation areas. - After fully assembled, wipe down outside many times with alcohol to clean up ALL grease residue. Spray or brush on 'plasti-dip' over all case seams and screw heads ( I do the whole servo) A stretch would be to pull the servo apart and purchase some PCB conformalcoating and spray or wipe the PCB down. Still leaves the potentiometer open to wetness. Water Proofing Electronics HS-5646WP - Hitec RCD Last edited by sweli; 12-14-2011 at 03:00 PM. |
