Default Dinky R/C's "Save the Trees" Micro-Mule project

Had one of these floating around in the shop for quite a while.
Why have it, if your not gonna drive it, right?
But what to do with it...?

Introducing the

"Micro Mule"

Not sure if it's been done before, but we're making an attempt at scaling these up to include them during our regular 1/10th trail runs.
Working in tandem with our "Woodsman" Trailers, this little booger gets loaded up, and brought along for an added dimension of realism.
And when you find a narrow pass, or just some nice campsite scouting.
Just drop it off the trailer, and get to exploring.

Don't throw away your parts trees!

This was a fun little project, and if you own a micro already, could be almost free to do yourself.
All of the tube work you see, is re-purposed parts trees!
You'll just need to source some ABS sheet of some sort,
and a little CA glue,
And your off and running!

So stop leaving them at home, doomed to a live of couch crawling.
Get to fiddlin', and bring yours along for the ride next time!

(Sleepin' Bag, Steering Wheel, and Fuel Cell sold separately)

This is all kindas of bad ass. I could see this thing being drug around in the bed of a hilux or tundra. Very good work.

Save the Trees!!

Damn that is very impressive work. Especially for the "raw material" used to built it! Great imagination.

I've seen those things at Scout camps years ago but never woulda thought to put two-and-two together and build a scale version.

I'd love to see a pic of one loaded up on a trailer and hooked to a truck...

Thanks for the compliments guys!
Always trying to think outside of the box!

We'll try to get some more detailed pics uploaded over the next week or so.
I added a bunch more scale items since these shots were taken.
Kind of obsessing over the little booger.

In the mean time, would anyone be interested in Dinky R/C carrying a sort of "starter kit" to make building one of these a bit simpler for folks?
Maybe include a base, 2 chassis mounts, front and rear valence, Steering wheel, sleepin' bag, Fuel Cell...?

Let us know, and I'm sure we could find a way to get you to this type of vehicle that much easier!

muddauber the mule looks awesome!!! I'm workin on one right now I got a few questions for you? What scale of steering wheel did you use, cause the 1/10 looks a little big on mine? Also did you make or buy the expanded steel in the basket? If you made it how'd you do it? Thanks!!!
