Default Aluminum-body Rally Truck

OK..no gigglin'...this is gonna end up looking cool....no, really..

Especially when it gets smashed!
Got the idea from a post by takman who used a Dakar truck paper model, and I love 80's Euro rally trucks, so I tried my hand at one..and it only cost $4 to make!..I'm gonna outfit it with a light-bar, roofrack, spares, and goodies..but for now here's what I got:

First this:

Then this:

That is sick! You're gonna have to post pics of it after a few runs.

That's pretty cool. Paper Models are good for lots of things. I used one as a template for my Micro Samurai build.

OK..here's pics of it finished (pre-destruction)..I forgot to apply the grille graphics, so I will resize and apply tomorrow...and I hit the body with clear-coat, but it made some of the colors bleed, so I'll have to re-think that in the future...I'll try to get vid up tomorrow on my rock course...the mud pit at the summit will be filled with waste oil so this should get pretty messy

OK..got it out on the "rock garden" today...I filled the mud pit with a couple of quarts of waste oil and it was a blast!

-The course (approx. 11' wide and 3' high):

-The approach:

-Over "the one that didn't make it":

-STUCK!:

-Into "The Pit":

-MUDDIN', BABY!

-Ooopsie..:

-Post-recovery:

-Just as hard goin' down:

All in all a GREAT maiden voyage, but not as much carnage as I expected..
The foam-reinforced aluminum stood up to rash and topples better than I thought..tho I need a faster motor for messier muddin!
