what do you mean by "Air dampened shocks"? Also, where do you buy the parts for the chain drive? I'd like to give that a try... Awesome job |

what kind of lathe you got shape? Really like your wideners, but the lathe at work is a little big and I dont think the chuck will go down enough to clamp 7mm hex, let alone the brass, was thinking of getting a HF 8 x 12 and this would be a great reason to have it, normally at home I was making a body jig to work on a 68 camaro ( was laid off ) had to sand 1/32 off some 5/8 hands bolts by hand to use as locator pins sucked. even a small lathe woulda helped. anyway looks good |

I have a Taig lathe with a Sherline 3 jaw chuck. I also have a Sherline mill but did not use it on this build. http://www.taigtools.com/mlathe.html http://www.sherline.com/ However, I cheated on the hex size. I could not find 7mm hex stock without a 3 month wait time. I used 1/4" hex and shimmed it to 7mm with aluminum tape. For the brass barrel nuts, I used an old trick a ship modeller once showed me; I took K&S telescoping brass hex tube and soldered 3 or 4 consecutively smaller pieces inside each other to make one almost solid hex of brass and solder. The I.D. of the smallest piece in the middle, I tapped to 2mm. I did not even need to drill a center hole. To cut the shoulder on the barrel nut, I did use the lathe but people could do it with the hex chucked up in a power drill and could cut the shoulder with a file. I used this "poor mans" lathe for years. Just be slow and careful. It might help to take a couple of shots of Awesome Sauce before you start. | |

You got some nice equipment, I am planning to get my own once I have the space and money for it. I normally would just do things by hand as you have in the past but a tremor and some nerve damage make it more than frustrating to do. That and the fact I am missing the tips of 2 of my fingers lol.

I am having discussions with RC4WD about manufacturing the chassis. - I added some Land Rover badges and a license plate. I also made some luggage and an ice chest for the roof rack. I went on a micro adventure and finally got it dirty. Video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ldWoqSMkKI |

That D90 body is so sweet. It is plastic right? The detail is incredible. This build is one of the best micro trucks I've ever seen. Stunning, especially the brass work... |

Wow. I think I remember seeing your Tamiya wooden educational truck converted to RC on one18th.com years ago. It was my favourite mini build. Now this one is my favourite. Great job!
