| 1/24 losi trail trekker
ive been thinking about getting one of these for the last few weeks and finally picked one up. i didnt realize just how small these things were until i looked at one in person. if my k5 blazer body on my scx10 had a drop bed it would easily fit in it! this truck is only going to be used indoors and probably wont go too crazy with new parts. but i may try and make new ones. so far all ive done is remove the shock limiters and mounted it in the lower hole on the chassis. i also removed the rex stickers on it. the next thing im planning on doing is getting a model pickup and modifying the body will post pics later |

after this thing sitting on a shelf and other places for the last few months im ready to start the build for it. all ive done to it is remove the springs and spring cups. i going to use a model of a 1999 ford svt lightning that i have had since 2006 and never finished. it will most likely be a slow build but i will try and finish it. i would like to use a 1/10 5mm led set up in it, it wont be scale bit it will be unique! the build will most likely get some custom body work on it, how much will depend on what comes to mind. the model was originally going to be a #11 Denny Hamlin truck that i wanted to have signed by Denny himself at the June 2006 Pocono race were he ended up winning from the pole. pics of the unfinished truck. the trekker an idea how it will look in when finished |

after seeingthe micro crawlee hauler thread on here it gave me an even better idea. its kind of a cross between the crawler hauler and the lightning i was originally doing. its a 4x4 peterbuilt! havent decided on what the final wheel base will be yet but i will most likely need to extend the rear driveshaft first i removed the leaf springs that come molded to the stock chassis, and removed the area between the pins to hold on the hood. next cut a piece of square plastic tubing to brace between the hood. which gave plenty of clearance for the servo. and a quick shot of what it looks like so far. the axles is not mounted Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk |

ok I really liked the f150 body on there but the the peterbuilt looks killer on there.

got some more work done to the chassis. mostly put some thin styrene plates to cover the area between the frame rails. also removed most of the molded suspension mounts, mud flaps, and rear tail lights. i also started to make the rollcage for the front under the hood, the plastic motor will not be used Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk Last edited by c0bra; 05-04-2012 at 06:27 PM. |

worked on the peterbuilt yesterday and today. i got - the styrene pieces covering most of the chassis now -made the 3 piece front cage done to mount the battery (not perfect but who cares) -cut out the are under the body between the frame rails -glued 2 support pieces in but 1 needs moved -trimmed the trans mount to fit in between the frame rails under the sleaper - figured out a way to mount the front bumper - and some more body work done to the cab, hood, vchassis, and front bumper Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk |

couldnt figure out an easy way to extend the rear driveshaft to do the peterbuilt, so i changed my mind with what truck to use for this. then i remembered i have an old 1950s style chevy pick up, that was originally made to look like it needed work. that truck was never finished and i just happen to have a "spare parts" one as well. im not real big on the huge tires with small wheel wells so im making them bigger using a sanding drum attachment for a dremmel. i have the left rear fender done so that the wheel will stuff all the way up when its compressed.
