| Re: Klampyz little F truck i built a dodgy "shelf" inside the frame for the electronics to sit on. im pulling it apart tonight to paint the frame, i decided against sliders, even tho ill probly regret that decision, it just looks cleaner without them. it quite probably might get a rear something in the tray, but not sure what or how yet. enjoy |

i thought id have a play with the camera we got for xmas off the inlaws. 14mp! pulled it all down and greased all the bits that need grease. i always use castrol marine grease, its high temp and its waterproof! bare for those who have never seen inside a QLO axle.. painted! it hasnt stuck very well, already coming off in places, ill give it another going over on the bumpers but otherwise thats sorta cool that it will scratch easy. i know brass doesnt rust as such, but will still look like rust sorta as its brownish... tossing up between black or white to paint the body with..... what do ya'll reckon?? |

i wasnt happy with the front suspension/steering. so i pulled it apart and rebuilt the whole front end tonight. instead of the narrow part of the Y top links being at the chassis, its now on the diff so now has the full criss crossed links. even to the extent i had to change diff housings, as the one i had fitted had its center mounts removed. which then turned into this, and now the top links join at the front, its not flexing in an arc anymore, which i think was the main issue. it now has zero sideways movement when steering. much happier. edit:oh, and now has a tire rack. |

its been a while since i updated this... alot has happened since january... :/ truck got painted got some wheeling action and then it broke. so i chopped the tray off. and then re-attatched the tray. removed almost everything from the chassis. and then started filling in the gaps. started on the rear cage section which resulted in a ton of flex! more cage but then kept breaking steering hubs. so i made more cage. and added some flair (flares? lol) today a new QLO arrived, C/o Kurtus420 (awesome job Kurt!) which included these amongst other bits of great value to me and this build! and that leaves us here! |

| Re: Klampyz little F truck
things are starting to come together. and ive put limiter/bumpstops in the rear coz the flex was just too much, kept popping LCAs off. ive since added extra springs and its made a world of difference, but now doesnt have enough flex, so im gonna try a pair of the stiff (currently has soft fitted) ones but without the bumpstops, and see if it works better like that. getting pretty close to painting the chassis. im gonna paint it with everything bar the axles attatched to blacken it all out. edit: just swapped out the springs and its much better now even better than it was before! new parts have all come together so nicely. =D |

its a light coat of silver enamel. im not happy with the way it looks right now tho. so, its probably going to get the brake fluid treatment when i can be bothered. i just used what i had on hand. so.. yea, it will do for now, but its going to change. its either going to be a fluro something or black cage, and white body. but thats after i finish the exo that is still waiting to go on. edit: ive got some awesome lighting coming as well. |

i fitted the front part of the cage tonight and had a play on the rocks. its already annoying me with the massively reduced approach angle... not sure what to do... was gonna use it to pivot the body for easy access without having to unscrew it all the time... but now im not sure i even want it on there. |

what a waste. i thought, yes! ill reduce some 1.9 rockbashers down to 1.0 ..... turns out theres not enough sidewall to make it worthwhile. :( so now i have 3.5 rockbashers... :( oh well.... this truck is really getting to the point where i almost dont want to continue with it and rather be continuing my jeep and transferring all the good bits from this to it... what do people think?? |
