| Trekker ESC Burned up, what should I do??
My esc started smoking when I connected a 2s 1300mah 25c lipo.... Should I buy a new one? I cant seem to find any used ones for parts on ebay, and the esc is 50 bucks new, I just bought the thing new two days ago... I wanted to try a lipo in it but i know its huge, thought it could handle it.. |

That would be a defect in the ESC. I had one do that. ran it for about 3 hours and next thing I know it was smoking and the contacts that feed power to the motor were melted together. You didn't do anything wrong. Call up horizon hobby tech support and tell them what it is doing and they will send you out a replacement. well thats what they did for me. The support the guys there give is top notch.

is it possible the black wire should be soldered where the red is on the connector to the lipo. Maybe i have them backwards but would that even matter? Reverse polarity

yeah... that would matter. if you hooked it up in reverse then that would kill the esc real quick.
