You will have to learn to work with styrene, and bonding it to the model chassis, to locate your running gear on. For example, check how I added styrene plate to this chassis: |

You could go with brass too. Its pretty easy to work with and you can solder it with a soldering iron or a small butane torch. Im starting a micro build with a revell jeep wrangler rubicon. I mocked up the body and axles and it was a pretty good fit. Then i found the chassis for the model and copied in in brass. Its not easy to work with micros. It can be frustrating if you dont have a lot of patience. Just take it slow and read up on here for ideas and help. |

Look for 1.5mm (.060) Styrene sheeting. It can be glued with Testors model cement. |

fyi you do not have to use styrene at all... find your model and do what you can. i bought one off of ebay and flipped it back out for sale keeping all drivetrain and electronics... you take this model and it looks nothing like the end result... from this To Sh1ttyL0ssi-2 by TeleFragger / RootBreaker, on Flickr Sh1ttyL0ssi-4 by TeleFragger / RootBreaker, on Flickr Sh1ttyL0ssi-1 by TeleFragger / RootBreaker, on Flickr |
