Yoda-T Ill post later from my pc and better pics when done. Let me start by saying im horrible at build threads. I dont take pics and my mod skills ar horrid but it doesnt stop me from trying. I decided the micro t i got needed something fun. Cut chassis and stretched it. I need to get glue and brace the frame. What glue is good for plastic? I may remove screws if glue is strong enough... I had this lid I got in sn ebay deal so figured a good use.... Lid is not mounted Frame needs bracing Need to support motor as i dont remember how it was bolted Needs motor wires soldered Needs a battery So she will b a runner soon... http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/06/26/uba9uge7.jpg http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/06/26/aresyzyh.jpg http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/06/26/paneby2u.jpg http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/06/26/zamumugy.jpg Sent from my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 |
Was lookin how to lower it... seems im gonna have to shave the spare tire in the back to get lid crouch down... want it to sit low Sent from my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 |
I've been using this Plastruct weld http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/06/26/uty7esen.jpg I built a boat trailer out of this stuff and love using it.It actually melts plastics together, so if your using sheet plastic you can just brush the cement on the joints and it flows into the seam.On my boat frame the larger square rod I used for the frame I put a dab of the cement onto the end of the parts first and let them soak for a few seconds to make sure it melted the center good. Its hard to find a good deal on shipping for that stuff though, shipping is usually as much as the glue.I just ran out last week and the cheapest I could find it was from a wargaming store in michigan, michtoys. Its not a very big deal though if you live near a hobby store, they should have it in stock. Nice work on stretching your micro. What scale size is the body?Any chance on being able to use a 1:24 model for a body to build a 1:24 scale baja bug? |
Thanks ill look for that glue. We have a huge hobby store that sells models trains and all that stuff. I could use a model but got a model to do for something else so was looking for something different. Ill measure the lid later.... Sent from my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 |

so forgot to update this... i bought this stuff and used it above... see where the screws are? I loosened them... put that stuff in and screwed back down to hold them together... it never held???? is it more for styrene than other plastic? |
Re: Yoda-T heard about that glue some guys over here use it and like it alot |
Re: Yoda-T At any hardware store you can get PVC cleaner for plastic pipe. It works the same as the expensive others and you get a huge amount for 4-5 bucks. I've been using the stuff for years"thumbsup" |
