I just spent most the night alighning my front end, and man am I glad that's done! It's such a pain in the a$$ to get everything lined up correctly, and centered, with the right ride height, etc! One slight move in any direction during mock-up, and everything is out, and your starting over! That said, it's about as perfect as I can get it. Now to finish it up, and head to the rear! |

Looking good man the more and more I look at those fenders I want to do it to my own haha. How are u mounting the body to the chassis? Are u using the floor tub the model came with?

| Re: 1:20 Scale Class 5 Baja Bug I have just been using the model floor tub, and building up the kit around the new front end. Or should I say rebuilding! My kit's interior tub was almost completely assembled, so I first had to take everything apart! The front is slowly coming along, right now I'm trying to pre-plan the electronics. These kits have such limited space, and I'd like to at least have some front seats for the interior. I'm toying with the idea of putting some hollowed spare tires in the rear to give me more room to hide things, but we'll see later. |

And here's another mock-up shot to show the spare tire idea. |

Got most of the front end boxed up tonight, at least enough for now. Looks like I'll have room under the front hood, or trunk thingy, for the battery! I'll have to put the rest of the electronics in the back of this thing somewhere. Tomorrow I think I might start on mounting the motor and rear end. Soon we'll have roller status! Took my idea for the battery! Haha jk. Hood trunk latches were broken off when I got it. Might use magnets to hold it in place...

Sometimes we really do put our blood, sweat, and tears into our hobby. Tonight, for me, it was my blood. That's the hazard of working with styrene, those damn X-acto knifes are sharp! Then again, it means you always have a bottle of CA glue close on hand to glue yourself back together! Saves you a trip to the hospital to have the doctor do the same. That way you can get right back to building! Although, at a little bit slower pace. Heres a pick of the carnage, keep in mind it looks worse because of all the glue, it's a little excessive! |

Didn't get a whole lot done tonight because of my bum thumb. I just kept on working on the front end. Right now I'm trying to box everything in to try to keep dust and stuff out of the battery compartment. I did however end up using the front micro-t body mount! |

Not a whole lot of progress, but I did start a little on this one. I started some of the rear frame work, and got the lower links in. |

Tonight I got the rear end all mounted up, I just need to mount the shocks and I've got a roller! The rear shocks are a combo of micro-t shocks, and Trekker ball ends on the axle side. It will be easy to mount them, I'll just use the rear mount for the micro-t. |

| Re: 1:20 Scale Class 5 Baja Bug Very carefully! Seriously though, I started by taping the two pieces together, then heating them over a candle about a half inch at a time. I used a small jam jar to get the right circumference. I also got the motor mounted tonight. I had to put it in sideways in order to clear everything though. I will have room for front seats, so that's a plus! |
