| 1/32 Brass Bronco
So I i've been itching to do somthing with these. This one shouldn't take to terribly long to get done, its kind of a warm up run for the build that will follow. Ok so like usual the brass frame is first, this one is smaller than normal. Should do. I needed a really small transfer case so, Losi micro trans gear/shaft with brass micro SCT pinion. A bit of mock up with the gear motor. I mounted it in this manner first but I wasn't real happy with it. Then this. Link time! Now for the axle truss. Inside the body mount is the upper link mount positions. Uppers in place:nice: Thats about all for this morning, I had a bit of an incident a about 6 weeks ago and i've got a bum left arm for a while so this build shouldn't take too long.. |

Thanks alot guys, its good to be back at the work bench again. I didn't have as much time to tinker as I thought this afternoon but I did get something accomplished. Lower link mounts.. These parts are a challenge just to hold on to while working with them. The link setup all "pinned" in. Also made some axle side lower link mounts from brass C channel. Trimmed and cleaned up Now what to do for front springs/shocks and the rear all together. I've got these but I don't think they are going to cut it, they're for a micro-t. Off to get the front "sprung"! |

I'm pretty sure this is going to be a.. GULP... Bronco. I just like the area in the rear to work with. I'll be doing a styrene cage inside, some like I did here on the tube top toyota. It was either the Ford.. Or a Dodge body that still needs mucho work. So here is a bit of progress, got me some internal spring shocks made up for the front. Still need a bit of cleanup yet but they're made from three sizes of aluminum tubing and OE micro crawler shock shafts. They are pretty small, the outside of the shock body is just shy of 3mm. Wish I could have done something better for the bottom mount but it'll hafta work. Then I made up some simple shock hoops and thanks to "dirtmodeler" bent up some of these shnazzy little brass brackets. Soldered together and ready to meet up with the chassis. FYI... Yes I did steal all of my wife's straight pins"rolling" Almost looks like they were made for each other. Thats all for tonight folks, i'll try and get the servo, motor and rear suspension done up tomorrow if there's time. |

I ended up redoing the center skid... Again. It'll stay this time. Also getting on to the links. Then it needed another truss, links and mounts and she's ready to go. The wheelbase is right at a bic. Or a pack of smokes. (I know its a bad habit) I'll try and get some pics of the rear spring setup that i'm not totally happy with in a while. Thinking either hoops like the front or cantilever it. Hafta see where some other stuff is going to fit before the cant. suspension would be a go as that space behind the axle was reserved for electronics or battery.. We'll just have to wait and see. |

| Re: 1/32 Brass Bronco I've never tried the servo board as an ESC but i'll give it a shot. If all else fails i'll try and stuff a losi micro setup in here somewhere. Ok so here is the first shock setup I had on the rear, laid out way to far. I was just trying to keep things under the floor. Shocks with external cap to keep them short as possible. I did come up with something better for the bottom eye:nice: With that out of the way here is where its at right now. Regular ol' hoops Reconfigured the lower mount a bit. You all thought I was done with the shock didn't ya? |

Got the floor trimmed up for the shocks. A tab for the servo to start Then a piece of strip brass bent around for the other end. Then on to another task before the front gets to cramped to work. Gear motor, meet brass tube. A couple of bent pieces of rod and:nice: Back to the servo. Its a pretty tight fit when the suspensions compressed. And with that i'll leave you with another picture to put the scale in prospective. You've seen the lighter, pack of cigarettes and a quarter but now a live reference;) Thanks again for following along! |

I made up some tires for it. I wasn't sure if I wanted to go TTC style or more stockish but I think having 4 links front and back set me up to make these. Here's another tire I made up in case I wanted stockish, Goodyear MTR's Made up some more wheels. And.... Roller:nice: Couple more pics.. I got some 000-120 thread nuts and bolts instead of using straight pins. I'll get some better pics for size later on. I'll tell you that they are really easy to hold and get started being so big. |

VERY impressive - I could barely see parts that small, never mind fabricate or build them :(

Hi Mgcrawler. Is it possible to get those rear axles for a 1/24 scaled crawler? If so, how do I get them, or where could I get them from? I've seen them on the net but my country doesn't have those. BTW, nice job on your build!
