The G500 in the attached link is diecast. Any idea where we could find plastic bodies similar to yours? I'm interested in having my girlfriend pick me up one of the Defender 90 kits next month for my birthday, but I'm really not into top heavy diecast bodies. If I have to lose the interior and clear windows to end up with a rig that drives decent, so be it...I can add brass bumpers, rock sliders, a roof rack, and a faux winch and be happy.

After watching the videos it looks like I stand corrected. The COG doesn't look too bad, even with the diecast bodies. Are there plans for other versions of this kit as well?

I am using the plastic G500 body from below link, only available in China and price is quite good. But the body size will cost a lot if I send it via UPS.

Default 1/18 CNC Axle DIY Chassis (D90&G55)

Right on about the color but was mainly asking price of the wheels! Maybe you could break it down for all of us ?

Tire price:
Wheel price:
Black wheels same price as silver?
Transfer case price:
4 link mounts price:
Driveshafts price:
Spare parts prices for axles, etc:

Reason I ask is the G55 wheelbase will fit fine, but the contour of the shock towers and chassis probably will not fit my build. The body I have is a die-cast body and has a full interior which I want to keep intact!

Pretty much what I intend to buy from you is everything including motor mount minus chassis parts, I'll have to make my own very likely

Beautiful work on everything! Can you explain what the shaft circled in green is used for?

Think it's the axle shaft the ring gear rides on. Like a long spool!

Probably because there are already several options to chose from in 1/10 axles, and only a couple for micro/mini builders. There are so many choices for axles in 1/10 it could make your head spin! I think it's nice of Sam to make such beautiful parts for us who are not building 1/10 rigs. It now gives us a third choice for axles! Besides, I'm not sure why you would come to the micro section wanting 1/10 axles?

Are the Bruder bodies (Jeep TJ, Land rover) the right size for these?

Bruder is 1/16, too big for the 1/18 chassis. Below pictures are Bruder LD body compared with 1/18 G55 chassis.

Sam is shipping worldwide, I am living in Switzerland and used this chassis with a 1:18 UH D90 die cast body. Its an almost perfect match in terms of size and the look is amazing, but the heavy weight of the die cast body is not ideal for crawling. If someone knows a light plastic body of the same Kind, it would be the perfect choice . Rgds

Here are some pics of the chassis with the well known 1:18 UNIVERSAL HOBBIES D90 die cast body. Its an almost perfect match in terms of size and the look is amazing, but of course the heavy die cast body will never make a hardcore crawling rig out of it. On the other side driving the micro sized car with the added weight somehow feels like driving a bigger scale. However - I like it Rgds and happy building

Edit: yes I know, I've (miss)placed the red back light LEDs where the fog light should be. May be I will change this later, may be not. The space for the lights is really small, like everything in this scale, but it's a ton of fun to work and drive with it.

Small update: a new driver! He's always on some drugs, so let's hope he arrives with this rig in case of emergency..

Just received my kit from Sam yesterday and all i can say is WOW the detail is amazing, i am going to take my time building it as i want to paint all the brass black and im still deciding what i want to do with the aluminum axles, they look and feel smooth as butter.
