Default Sumo trans

Hey I was wondering if anyone on here could help me out. I'm kinda new to the micro thing and was wondering what exactly I have to do to swap out a trekker trans for a sumo one? And I guess to see also if its even worth it? I've taken my donor sumo apart to try and figure it or by myself but I think I need a few guidelines haha. Thanks

User Fungi has a Shapeways store that may offer the type of skid you may need. But I can't remember it's name or link.

Ya I've ordered one already. Just wanted to know the benefits and/or performance that it gives you. And also how to attach a losi motor instead of the sumo one

Sumo trans/motor in a trekker will be very very sloow. Dunno about fitting the sumo trans with a stock losi motor. You'll need a big pinion and it will have a lot less reduction than stock. As the trekker uses worm axles it doesn't like going fast, the plastic woms just melt.

Sounds like you might be referring to the Sumo axles themselves.

So what you're saying is I should plan on using sumo axles if I'm using the sumo trans?

I picked up a micro a while back. had a sumo trans with losi axles. Way too slow. Ended up swapping in a losi trans.
