Default Long bed Yota

Hi everyone i thought it was about time i share with you my current build. I decided to do something abit different by modifying the body of the lowrider hilux brought out by aoshima. so i re-did the the grill and made the back of the cab more vertical, i also decided to extend the bed which accommodates the longer wheelbase of the chassis i will be using. Make sure to stay tuned as i have a few surprises in store

Looks great!
I definitely prefer 79-83 yotas with a long bed. Nice job fixing the cab too.
Eager to see more

So a lot has happened since i got my donor chassis (using the one from the aoshima 92 double cab hilux) and wheels for this project. I got a bit side tracked for some reason and thought i could turn the double cab into a single cab (that did work) but then part of me wanted to see how far i could push it and so i decided to turn the custom 92 single cab into a 84-88 hilux, and this is what iv'e come up with. Also to answer your questions on the transmission and the axles that im sure everybody has is yes that is in fact a losi trial trekker trans combined with the transmission of the rc4wd 1/18 d90 that i grew tired of playing with and yes those are the axles from the very same truck just shortened. The front axle i made is a hybrid using the steering parts from the OH35P01 and the d90 axles, it still uses the dog bone and axle yokes from the d90 and evrything functions well. Anyway tell me what you think

the turning radius isnt so great neither is the flex from the leaf springs but at least it has plenty of torque thanks to the transmission combo i made. i have made a bed for it and like the title of the thread says its still a long bed. i'll put pictures up soon as i have just finished the front bumper and the grill

so as mentioned i have done the grill and made the bed for this rig i think its starting to look pretty close to an 85 yota. too bad there isnt an actual 1/24 model of this toyota out there as far as i know so i guess that makes mine the only one it drives pretty well too, ill try get a video up at some stage.

Thanks. im still working on the early hilux body so i can easily swap between the two ive also got a land cruiser 80 body that fits this wheelbase but to mount the body would take a bit of work and the front wheel well of the chassis is a lot smaller than the front fender of the LC so it looks a bit strange like the body is placed too far forward on the chassis.

their made from a 15cm ruler that wasn't stainless steel but something weaker that i was able to scribe with a knife a few times then break apart in a small vice just by bending it back and forward a few times
