Details. you want a rock racer or a trail truck or a crawler? it's hard to weigh opinions without knowing what you're looking for. the D90 is a great little truck and a good platform to upgrade, but it's newer than others.

I like to trail.. crawling. Ive got a trail trekker also.. which i suppose can be like the ambush.. very similar. the 1:18 d90 is a bit bigger yes.. but slow. ive been reading where a servo motor (cant recall which one) makes a world of difference. I may go that route. im more into 1:10 scale crawling/trailing

I'm going to try the servo motor (different servo I happen to have however) And If I remember I'll definitely make sure to report back on how much it does/doesn't work.

The ProLine Ambush. You get the better products and customer service that come with ProLine. And the D90 needs a ton of upgrades right out of the box.

Pulled a servo motor, got it mounted, but something is binding during assembly, I think the motor screws are a touch too long. I'll have to look into it next week I'm leaving on a trip tomorrow.

it takes some comfort with drilling a larger hole in the transmission for the new motor and dremeling down a few bits to make it fit.

from what I'm seeing online it's easier and better to do the dual motor mod instead of a larger motor.
