Default 1/24 HSP RGT Adventurer

Hello from Mongolia micro fans,

I couldn't wait for the ECX 1/24 Barrage, so I ordered this little rig today. I'll still get the Barrage once it comes out, but now my son and I can micro crawl together. Now I need to learn how to make a micro crawler course.

https://www.asiatees.com/article?RGT...rawler&id=3087

Anyone have one? Thoughts?

Thanks,
MP

I just pre-ordered the Barrage. Minus the body your rig looks the same. More than likely they are made at the same factory.

Hi mudbeast,

I think the only other difference between the two, besides the body, is that the Barrage comes with nice LED lights. I don't think the Adventurer does. I'm still going to go for a Barrage. My boy wants blue, but I want orange. I guess I'll get a blue one since I'll have this yellow rig.

looks pretty similar to FTX and the barrage. I pre ordered a barrage for my son. Hopefully my wife will grab one for me. Should go well with the rest of the fleet. i agree, they are probably all coming out of the same factory, the FTX vids I have seen have it looking pretty promising.

Merry Christmas Crawler Fans,

First mods coming:

1. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Let's hope this little guy can handle 2s lipo power. It seems to have no problems in this and other videos https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=upPdlgcLzx0

Watching this video led me to
2. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I hope it will be simple to install because who doesn't like realistic engine sounds on a tiny truck?

EDIT: I cancelled the sound system order because I found out that it would require an ESC and receiver upgrade. Rookie mistake.

I am also wondering if I would be able to use the 2 in 1 ESC/RX from the ECX Amp on this little rig. The guy in the video uses a 60 Dynamite ESC from a 1/12 Barrage and a receiver from a Maverick Scout, pretty cool. This guy and SHEN RC also managed to mod the truck to take a 10t pinion, which I will likely do as well, but I'd like to see how it is stock first.

Peace,
MP

Yes HNQ,

In the meantime, I'd probably better look around for suitable backup electrics...I do have a 20 A ESC/RX from an ECX Amp that might work.

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas guys,

UPDATE:

I decided to keep the order for the engines sounds system after all and try to run this ESC https://www.ebay.com/itm/20A-Brushed...72.m2749.l2649 which I believe will do fine with both the stock Nimh and the 2s.
I will try to bind the included TX with this ECX13003 RX https://www.horizonhobby.com/24ghz-r...-v3-p-ecx13003 which I hope will work since this transmitter is exactly the same as the one from the Amp kit, which binds with this RX.

We'll see I guess...

Just a heads up,

I was surprised to learn that I can expect about 2 and a half minutes run time on the stock battery pack. I need to find a bigger battery or two.

Hi guys,

If you have this truck or the ECX/FTX versions, be sure to check the nut on your spur gear. Mine was too tight and was binding. Also, back off the wheel nuts a bit. For some reason, I am still getting under 3 minutes on the stock battery though...

Hi Nate,

I am happy with it overall. However, it needs to slow its roll. There is a bit too much speed and not enough torque for my liking. Most guys that have it are looking for ways to make it a better crawler/climber. It is pretty cool on 2s and I really like running a sound kit for engines sounds.

Thanks for the update, usually RTR crawlers seem to benefit slow speed resolution and nice controlled start up and stopping by replacing the ESC and radio setup. 2S is good, maybe swap ESC and go to 3S?
