New RC4WD tranny for the mini d90

Since there was a leak on FB about this, I had the ok from RC4WD to release the real infos...
So RC4WD worked hard on this new tranny and they nailed it...
Compare to the stock transmission, this one is a bit slower bit have a LOT of torque!!! (And still faster then the Trail Trekker)
It is a direct bolt on upgrade...
Made of composite plastic, it is a bit lower, better cog, better shaft angle, better........ ;)
It has the same motor but a different gearing!
I ran a lot of packs since I got it and I'm very impressed... Not the same rig at all...

Edit: Thank you for the leak. That is really awesome that RC4WD listened to everyone, that the issue of gearing and no torque sucked and they worked to figure out a fix for us. I cannot wait to purchase one to test it out and share my opinion with the forum. Wahoo!
At first I was simply thinking, cool, its worth a shot; but givin some time to think, I find this to be really exciting!! This is big news for us!! Not only for the mini Gelande2, but for future mini builds as well, another option of transmission out there!

I was curious to see what they'd do when I heard about this. looks like they've added a much needed larger spur gear. Good to see they are still supporting this truck. First the upgraded the axles, now the transmission. Hopefully these parts make it into the RTR. Well, at least the newer axle's

This could be the go to Micro tranny for all makes.... RC4WD make these easily available please....

Good news for sure and always good to see products getting long-term support and improvements! I looked but didn't see the upgraded axles, where are they and what's improved?

They've added extra bearings and changed the axle shaft design. I think they have changed something on the knuckles.

I'll take it! A little meaner gearing would be PERFECT with the servo motor. I'll miss the aluminum case, though. Gave it that nice 'overbuilt' feel. Haha

EDIT: After looking again, it looks like it might take a bit more modification to stick the servo motor on this design.

I installed chain link for a necklace, looped around the frame and below the axle, to act as a limiting strap. It works well, but I agree, cant wait for this to possibly help the need for my limiting strap all together.

Newer video really shows the torque the new trans produces. Awesome! Crawling up the single concrete step was a good example. Absolutely cannot wait!

I thought the EXACT same thing. Haha
My front driveshaft just barely comes apart when the front axle is 100% drooped. This should absolutely alleviate that!
