Re: WPL C14 IT'S FINALLY HERE! I haven't seen many pictures of the kit yet so here's a really quick unboxing. The blue servo is for size comparison with the black one that came in the kit. You get the servo, the motor, and LEDs for the headlights, but rest of the electronics are up to you. First impression of overall quality is nothing to write home about, but for $30 I'm thrilled. I'll get $30 worth of enjoyment just from putting it together and detailing the body. These things are so cool. https://preview.ibb.co/j0OZRw/IMG_5284.jpg https://preview.ibb.co/eed16w/IMG_5285.jpg https://preview.ibb.co/nsXHeG/IMG_5287.jpg https://preview.ibb.co/jPOOKG/IMG_5288.jpg https://preview.ibb.co/nn8CDb/IMG_5289.jpg |

Wpl c14 Everyone is getting them around teh same time. Guess we’ll need a “build off” contest. |
Re: WPL C14 https://m.ebay.com/itm/WPL-B1-1-16-4...8AAOSwIHlaaFRI Hurry, $13.88 shipped for the kit "thumbsup", mines coming. |
Re: WPL C14 Does anyone know a source for nice 1:16 scale truck bodies? I did a little searching and it seems to be an uncommon scale for plastic model kits. There are some cars, but I didn't find trucks. |

Re: WPL C14 The kit tires are nice and soft! I had to make some mini CI style foams for mine, when sidehilling they would kinda fold over. |
Re: WPL C14 just got mine yesterday and the tires are way softer compared to WPL B1 military truck. |
Re: WPL C14 Geez. These things are all over eBay for under $10 shipped now. |
Re: WPL C14 Quote:
$10 kit $4 cheapo ebay ESC (10A - 30A) $6 cheapo ebay NIMH battery $7 flysky receiver plus your existing battery charger and transmitter, pretty much equals a "bind and drive" kit with hobby-grade electronics for LESS than $30 If you start with an RTR you'd have to add the cost of a servo, but that's still stupid cheap overall. https://i.imgur.com/N3pRqJN.png |
Re: WPL C14 Quote:
I went ahead and bought....paid for one, too. Maybe it’ll show up, maybe not. It magically shipped the next day although it took GearBest weeks to ship. Getting the drive train squared away. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...24e60a3268.jpg |
Re: WPL C14 Quote:
Did you put the cab on the Yeti JR chassis? |
Re: WPL C14 Quote:
Haven’t tried that yet. I will later just to see. |
Re: WPL C14 Quote:
I have seen there is a very active community at rcgrpoups working on the C14 (and B1) as well. Many good ideas and thoughts over there on this little truck. I would like to see something similar on this forum. While waiting impatiently for my kit to arrive, the little voices in my head are getting crazy on what to moddify first :lmao: Looking at the steering geometry, I would like to build some sort of high steer knuckles with a positive Ackerman or at least zero Ackerman setup. Due to the low weight of the truck, even 3D-printed "Zero-Ackermann-High-Steer-Knuckles" could work fine. |

The back of the cab is a separate piece. I think the cab could be used to fit the YJr. quite well. |
Re: WPL C14 Since it looks like this is the thread collecting the most C14 knowledge, I found that the Losi Micro Crawler shock springs fit nicely inside the stock C14 shocks. Softer and with a very small amount of grease on the shock shafts to remove some of the stiction, I get enough better articulation to be pleased. I had experimented with VMG shocks since I was testing the potential fit of the VMG axles. Those were okay but not as good a the small Losi springs. I’m actually pretty pleased with this kit! Happy with the tires after making some dual density foams from left over old foams. |

I have ordered some GPM Mini-T shocks in advance for my upcoming projekt. |

Re: WPL C14 Anybody have a source for a better motor that will fit in the stick trans, it actually works well on 2s lip with the esc I have on it, but the motor is getting super hot, I have the kit version btw with decent electronics you almost forget this is a toy, it works fairly well with stock everything else |
Re: WPL C14 Quote:
-The stock kit servo works good, no need for an upgrade here. -I'm running on a 6V NIMH and top speed is a slow walk. -Crawling ability is good, mostly owing to the sticky tires. It has no problem climbing scale obstacles. -The biggest drawback is I'm basically just waiting for something in the drivetrain to break. So far so good, but it all seems very fragile. -The fun factor is pretty high. I'm a fan. Also YMMV, but my kit was missing some pieces. |
Re: WPL C14 Also the kit tires are a softer compound than the rtr tires for those that were wondering, and my first failure on this one was the same as my b1, the rear output started slipping inside the driveshaft yoke about 2 mins in to driving |
Re: WPL C14 Found this on Banggood for 27.35 its for all wpl trucks 1x remote control receiver board 1X Li battery 1X USB portshttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...56bf53cd27.jpg Sent from my LG-H631 using Tapatalk |
Re: WPL C14 I took a chance on one of these cheap brushed ESCs you see on ebay. They're listed anywhere from 10A to 30A, but I think they're probably all the same. I paid less than $5 for one, and I can report it works great for the C14. The on/off switch fits perfectly in the intended spot on the chassis. Its small enough to fit in the same cavity as the steering servo, with enough room left over to squeeze a Flysky receiver in there. Throttle control is smooth. https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/78sAA...ilj/s-l225.jpg |

Here’s a 20a without the reverse delay switch. I bid $15.50 on 4 of them a few weeks back and they took the offer. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?m...2F282821985949 |

Re: WPL C14 Quote:
I wish I ordered the kit instead of the RTR. At the time I ordered, I didn't realize there was a difference. The tires in the RTR are ridiculously hard. |
