Has anybody tried the 1/18 punisher shafts from the RC4WD 1/18 Gelande?
Ima do the dual motors on the B-1 I have. I think the Punisher shafts will be too short.

IT'S FINALLY HERE!

I haven't seen many pictures of the kit yet so here's a really quick unboxing. The blue servo is for size comparison with the black one that came in the kit. You get the servo, the motor, and LEDs for the headlights, but rest of the electronics are up to you.

First impression of overall quality is nothing to write home about, but for $30 I'm thrilled. I'll get $30 worth of enjoyment just from putting it together and detailing the body. These things are so cool.

I haven't touched an RTR to know the difference. I would think the tires are all the same just because it would be easier for them to make, but I could be wrong.

Everyone is getting them around teh same time. Guess we’ll need a “build off” contest.

Does anyone know a source for nice 1:16 scale truck bodies? I did a little searching and it seems to be an uncommon scale for plastic model kits. There are some cars, but I didn't find trucks.

I think Bruder is one that makes 1/16 scale toys, how scale these are, don`t know exactly.

The kit tires are nice and soft! I had to make some mini CI style foams for mine, when sidehilling they would kinda fold over.

I'm waiting for the kits to get that cheap, because then:

$10 kit
$4 cheapo ebay ESC (10A - 30A)
$6 cheapo ebay NIMH battery
$7 flysky receiver
plus your existing battery charger and transmitter, pretty much equals a "bind and drive" kit with hobby-grade electronics for LESS than $30

If you start with an RTR you'd have to add the cost of a servo, but that's still stupid cheap overall.

I went ahead and bought....paid for one, too. Maybe it’ll show up, maybe not. It magically shipped the next day although it took GearBest weeks to ship.

Getting the drive train squared away.

You are moving fast!
Did you put the cab on the Yeti JR chassis?

Great! Maybe you can share some pics.

I have seen there is a very active community at rcgrpoups working on the C14 (and B1) as well. Many good ideas and thoughts over there on this little truck. I would like to see something similar on this forum.

While waiting impatiently for my kit to arrive, the little voices in my head are getting crazy on what to moddify first
Looking at the steering geometry, I would like to build some sort of high steer knuckles with a positive Ackerman or at least zero Ackerman setup. Due to the low weight of the truck, even 3D-printed "Zero-Ackermann-High-Steer-Knuckles" could work fine.
