I thought I was done with Orlandoo models but damn this is awesome. Already pre-ordered, already bought paint. Good times dropping tiny little nuts/screws ahead I hope they release a matching trailer, will have to make one until then. "21 lamp positions" oh, hell no >.> I will stick with standard head and tail lights. Last edited by Chicken Man; 04-23-2021 at 04:17 PM. |

| Re: New 1/32 Military Truck: Orlandoo Hunter OH32M01 The X01? I didn't mind that build at all. I thought it was a lot easier than my Jeep build. Hilariously fun rig too.

I think that jeep is the WPL style chassis.

I'm really close to preordering the tiny military truck... How's the quality on these Orlandoo kits? Is it pretty decent? (I know its only $100 bucks, not expecting too much I guess).

Didn't pre-order but got my kit in tonight, typical OH quality throughout except for the AL rails which seem substantial and very nice. The included tools are a non-starter, the phillips is bad but the 0.9mm hex wrench is atrocious. Purchase a nice Wiha or similar quality hex if you don't already have one.

Well, RCfreund found, that this Orlandoo truck is probably the US military version of the Steyr 12M18 truck. See (German): https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steyr_12M18 (there seems to be no English version). https://www.zwei-hesse-unnerwegs.de/...e/steyr-12m18/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steyr-...itary_vehicles https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Family...tical_Vehicles I like it even more now. Steyr is a small city in Austria, I was born and grew up there, my family still is there, next weekend, Mothers day, I'll be there Anyone knows, what all those orange lights are for? I intend to make my Orlandoo civilian... if possible. Walter |

That’s the truck I assumed it was modeled after. I went through several YouTube videos and there was a silver version in one of them. It’s not really a “civilian” version available but many have been brought over from the various military auctions that old surplus vehicles can be purchased at.

More exact: It is a Steward & Stevenson, developed by Steyr, built in the US. https://www.steyrforum.de/index.php/...wart-stevenson https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PAKmGZp4htQ |

they are not even that old. Developed the 1990ties... When I had to do my military service, we did not yet have those "new" ones, still the old (more round) ones (but of course Steyr and not Steward and Stevenson). Quite interesting, spread quite around the world in as small military transport vehicle. Here also some use it as off road camper... Walter Last edited by donaldsneffe; 05-01-2021 at 11:53 AM.

Yes. There is a man not far from me on another forum I follow that has one set up as a camper. Quite capable for its size but fuel consumption is greater than a normal camper or towed camper. But the cool factor far outweighs the conventional campers. The simplistic ideal of a military grade truck is also an advantage when any repair time/costs come.
