Merry Christmas folks,

As long as the transmitter from our RGT Adventurer (ECX Barrage 1/24) will bind with the ECX13003 receiver, our first micro crawler will have these upgrades.

This 20A ESC from China, recommended with no brakes https://www.ebay.com/itm/261748561401 Not bad for less than $5 if it works out.

The ECX13003 RX https://www.horizonhobby.com/24ghz-r...-v3-p-ecx13003 I am taking a chance that the stock TX will bind with this because I am sure that it will bind with the TX from the ECX Amp, which looks to be identical.

This little sound system because I think realistic truck engine sounds from a tiny truck is class https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Finally, the other advantage of that cheap 20a China ESC is that it should have no trouble running both the stock Nimh and this Venom 2s lipo https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I'll post some pics, possibly video and info once I get it all delivered and together.

Peace,
MP

If that receiver does in fact bind with the radio, then any esc will work not just that one. However that's a "clone" of the now popular xys-bl20a esc, so it should do fine on 2s lipo.
I'm surprised that receiver is so expensive though

Hi spoo,

Why surprised? I haven't yet been able to find the HSP/RGT equivalent, but $16 aint bad, is it? Thanks.

Well I don't know what it costs anywhere else, just surprised such cheap electronics have an expensive receiver. The GT3B radio is 3 channel with RXs that are $5-$6. Let us know if the Rx works

Sounds like a nice setup. The micro sound box is cool for a small truck!

Got the new tires, wheels and body in today. This thing is going to look sweet when I get the body mounted! Had to order longer M1.6 screws so I can actually assemble the beadlocks without stripping the wheels out. What would be the best way to mount the body anyway? I was thinking strong magnets. I really wanted a Trail Trekker body because my 1:1 looks a lot like it So I'm glad it fits the Barrage nicely.

Nice, I actually mocked up a trekker body on mine today too haha. IMO the Ambush body looks nice on it, but at that point it Just looks like every other Ambush.

Nice! How did you mount the Trekker body?

I really need to get myself one of these or the many clones.

I wish my '99 Tacoma was SASed, too. I settled for an unobtainium Elite bumper and front lunchbox.

This is the first off the shelf micro that has a decent motor. Unfortunately the ESC is crap and the battery is too small to let the motor perform they way it should.

Has anyone counted the teeth on the spur gear?

I would say the Losi Micro motor was pretty damn good. Good enough for all the Losi Micro cars, trucks, and crawlers.

I like the long can 140 motor for a crawler. Lots more torque at 6v. I like to climb slooowww....

Anyone know what servos might fit this little truck? After putting a Sidewinder 2 Micro, Futaba R204GFE and 2S lipos in, the stock servo is pretty glitchy. Even when the stock NiCd battery was getting low, the servo had a mind of its own. Maybe I need to get it warrantied?

A hitech HS-65MG most likely fits. Or an MG90s

MG90 and MG90s seem to fit in mine when I compared, though I'm still running stock

Ordered a HS-65MG and 4 MG90s's The MG90s are so cheap, how could you go wrong? Might find another use for them too.
