Not sure if this is the exact same as he’s using but I’ve got this one and it’s good.

There have been several people using a twin N20 geared motor setup in the RC4WD D90. I have seen 3D printed ones too. This one is aluminum and is really nice. This motor/ESC setup in not cheap but it is the ultimate in technical crawling control.

Awesome. This looks like the best way to go that I’ve seen yet. Thanks for your time!

I ve got a doble tranny in my gelande 1/18 and it’s fantastic. The new transmission that rc4wd just began to sell I think that will fit in the barrage and it’s very cheap http://store.rc4wd.com/R5-118-Mini-T...V2_p_5805.html |

You can find cheaper dual motor boxes than the one I used. There are 3D printed one's out there and the N20 geared motors are dirt cheap. You could even make your own out of simple plates. It just depends on your modelling skills and desire to tinker.

I don’t mind tinkering. I’m a machinist and also do 3d printing. Cost vs. effort and time make the best option to just pay and go on sometimes though. The sumo transmission swap seems ok too but finding what I need hasn’t been easy. Well I haven’t seen anything on ebay or amazon anyway. |

If youre a machinest and like to tinker, you might want to make a transmission like I did on the "Original" D90 I built long before there was such a thing as RC4WD D90. Land Rover Defender 90 Last edited by Shape_Shifter; 01-18-2018 at 01:36 PM.

Well crap. Now I’m going to feel guilty for taking the lazy way out lol! That’s an awesome build man! I might just order some reduction motors on amazon and print the plates/box to hold them. Cheap is important because my 11 also has a barrage. I bought mine so I could be a guinea pig for our trucks. We are newbs to crawling. I appreciate your help. I’ll probably send a pm with some other random questions if that’s ok. |
