| New RC4WD 1.0" GoodYear tires
I'm surprised I haven't seen anyone mention these here. Haven't run them yet, but the new compound feels as soft as the Scramblers and Rock Creepers, but stickier. Great for rocks, potentially not as great in fine dirt. The tread looks awesome. The foams are definitely different. They list then as "30 degree foam inserts" maybe they are closed cell? They do seem to have that memory foam feel, but I don't have any closed cell inserts to compare. Interestingly the foams are cut so they don't come up to the bead and won't touch the barrel of the wheel. Not sure why that is, I would have thought removing material from the outside diameter would make the tires conform better. As the pictures and specs show they are a tiny bit taller than the swampers and Baja claws, though clearly not as tall as the scramblers. Sent from my SM-N900T using Tapatalk |

Yeah, I saw 'em the other day... I have some 1.7" MT/R's and they are really nice. It's official, I do believe there is no other tire made in as many sizes as these... 1.0, 1.55, 1.7, 1.9x4.19, 1.9x4.75, and 2.2... too cool! |

| Re: New RC4WD 1.0" GoodYear tires There are actually quite a few options out there. RC4WD has a few, and you can find some other options on eBay, as well as several different options on shapeways. Here’s a link to Fungi’s Shapeways shop. There are several options there. https://www.shapeways.com/shops/lynxmicrotech |

| Re: New RC4WD 1.0" GoodYear tires Its literally the 1.0" standard wheel size for micro crawlers. Aside from the places already mentioned it's the same size for the Losi Micro crawler/Trekker, ECX Temper, Proline Ambush,Sumo crawler & Mini Gelande Sent from my SM-N900T using Tapatalk |

I think if they did the old Co-Op Buckshot or even the Maxxis ones they’d sell real good. Too good probably. Bubba builds are easier and more fun than stock scale builds. Both of these would be perfect for the new ECX with the flat bed. Last edited by Brake Weight; 03-16-2018 at 07:22 AM. |

My son just got a set of these mt/r's in the mail this morning for his ecx temper. We tried baking the old tires off this afternoon and were almost immediately reminded that baking only works on nylon wheels, not abs... like his! Hmm, now that I screwed up his stockers, we'll be putting in an order for some of Fungi's 1/4" offset Walker Evans wheels. I've never ordered from shapeways before, and I heard that Fungi has put a hold on his rc business, if it's on shapeway's site, does that mean I'm good to order them? |

Received the wheels from Fungi's Shapeways store and got 'em all mounted up. I had to turn the tires inside out and trim the beads for them to fit correctly on the glue-on wheels, but that was pretty painless. Two wraps of plumbing solder inside the wheels before glueing, and some 3/8" washers on the backside of the wheels (4 on each front, 1 on each rear... looks like brake rotors!) for weight had my son's little ECX crawling like never before! I know the wider offset and weight made a big difference too, but I was seriously impressed with the increase in performance these taller/wider/stickier tires made. These MT/R's are all around better than the RC4WD micro Boggers (which were also a huge improvement over rtr tires) having a more open tread pattern, softer compound/carcass, and a slightly taller size. Most importantly, my son loves them, and combined with the new wheels (and some detailing with metallic paint pens) really improved the look of his RZR 1000 bodied 1/24 crawler. |

RC4WD sure has a hit with their licensed copies of the Goodyear MT/R being available in so many sizes - they're selling like hotcakes, and are one of the best scale-accurate tires out there... I love my 1.7" MT/Rs in the 4.19" outer diameter - they look so realistic on the Ascender K10 Chevy, yet really work well out on the trail on the rocks. BTW - Pics of those little ones are needed! |
