All this c24 talk has motivated me enough to order one. I built a c14 last year on Losi Mini axles and have yet to use it aside from the initial battery pack testing. Ima order a c24 now and the bits to swap it over to leaf springs and metal gears. Something a little different.

That'll be sweet. When ordering the metal gears make sure to get black gears as they are steal not brass.

Waiting on the $47cdn original upgrade pack don't think the brass ones are that bad.

brass ones aren't to bad. steel is just stronger and id rather screw into steel than brass with those little set screws.

I’ve got a c24 ordered as well new axles already fitted with the brass gears. Also some spare leaf springs and I’ll rob the leaf mounts off of my unused B-1. Now the wait game....

Sweet, I can't wait to see your leafy build. I just ordered some rod ends and new shock towers they just came out with.

I went ahead and ordered up one of the C channel chassis’ with the upper leaf mounts and cross bracing. I don’t see any team on these small rigs to need all the aluminum bits they’re selling. So all I’ll need to rob are the leaf to axle mounts from my B-1.

Unfortunately my order has been showing processing for over a week now. This is the only problem with these cool little trucks.

From BangGood and GearBest. Whomever has the best prices. GBest used to take longer but now they’re about even. Always pay the little extra for insurance and slightly faster shipping. Otherwise it’s a cargo ship from China instead of a plane ride.

Got me one C24 too. I just looove that sleeper cab.

The terrible bump-steer was the only thing that bummed me out for a bit. The rest of the kit was a pleasant surprise, including only 1 wrong part in the bags : no left rear light cover, only 2 right side ones :P . Frankly, I expected much worse from China stuff. The thing is juuust short of hobby-grade. WPL ìs getting there, though.

I also discovered that the drive shafts’ slider sleeves towards the axles are a bit too long, and bind everything up. Could explain why so many people broke them. The couplings were put under quite a bit of strain. I cut off about 1.5 mm, and now everything runs smooth and free. Just have to shim the pinions for a bit. They rattle because they tend to get pressed away from the ring gear on the spool. Minor problem.

I run it with an ancient 27mhz Atech esc-rx controller from a long-gone Leo-X monstertruck. It juuuust fits under the bonnet. Made a fake CB antenna-mount to fit the 27mhz aerial. Looks nice.

I’m not planning on going the Rolls Royce way like the OP did. Maybe just metal spools and pinions.
The JJrc MAN KAT1, ( still on the slow boat from China, sadly) however, is going to get the 2 speed, steel shafts and gears, oil shocks, full lighting, sound, the works. Maybe even go 8-wheeler, since complete axles and rims are cheap as chips.

Blargh!

Sometimes the slow boat from China seems to have slow rowers on board.. especially when ordering from Gearbest. Banggood is usually relatively quick, say 10 days to the EU, to the States sometimes even as quick as 5 days.

Gearbest on the other hand? 2 to 3 weeks is not unusual.

I dó know You are going to love them. The WPL’s are real nice toys to tinker with. And their small size means that “the other half” usually doesn’t complain as loudly compared to hauling, say, a Bruiser on the kitchen table..
