Is it 1/12 scale or 1/16?

The link says 1/12 but the plastic steering link and front pumpkin say it’s 1/16 WPL based. All a matter of perspective I suppose. If a deuce and a half is 1/16 with those axles then this is a 1/12?

I don't know what the argument between them are, but I'd think the B36 with the more traditional setup would perform better than having each axle on it's own leaf no?

Never noticed that. I would speculate that the latter would perform better but it appears to be substantially heavier.

well the B36 does also have that huge rear end carrage to support instead of a flatbed.

I do wish however that design was standard on all 6x6 trucks. I'm looking at a 4x4 M35 and was trying to 3d print the parts to make it a 6x6. but it uses plastic gears.. here a RTR 6x6 with metal gears is readily available for only $62ish USD. almost seems easier at these prices to just buy the truck and switch the bodies on them!

Honestly I wish there were more metal in the whole drive train on ALL their platforms. I've got two WPL's and both of them broke driveshafts in about 15-20 seconds, and on a 180 motor my Toyota 4x4 blew up the rear axle gear pinion within 5 minutes. I just picked up an stock kit orlandoo crawler and am thinking the same thing may happen once I really start to drive it!

Honestly, probably now. Most all the drivetrain is plastic and needs their metal upgrades. I put a set of Losi Mini axles under the Toyota looking one and it’s OK at best. Mostly to look at.

How much are the replacement metal axles? Are they complete?

I don’t expect it to be hobby grade, but is it worth the 59.00?? I customize Playmobil for my gijoes but it’s twice the price & I doubt this is worse.

I’d say it would be worth it. I’ve got the Yoder, GAZ, and that Deuce.5. They’re as cheap as any static model you’d find but bigger.

I just want to add to my fleet. I custom made these two, but the WPL takes it to a different level & cheaper.

They've got all sorts of "upgrades" for them actually.

All metal axles, but they're square.

Or you can do just the gears.
https://www.banggood.com/WPL-Metal-G...p-1296355.html

6x6 gears.

This potential jewel is back in stock for now.

Driveshafts, leaf spring mounts, pretty much anything they could do in aluminum has a replacement for it now.

Here's another M35. It has some different body nuances and one review/question/answer states that it is slightly larger than the WPL and has 6mm axle hexes.

just when I thought the WPL trucks were cheap.. this looks like a chinese knock off of a china truck!

And I pulled the trigger on the B36

sure it's about $60. but it's rtr, with metal gears included. upgrading a plastic model brings the price up to that range pretty quick.

Also ordered up some metal drive shafts while I was at it. I don't plan to keep the stock power plant in this toy very long!

and for anyone looking into these, I absolutely feel like getting metal gears is a must if you plan to run anything over a 130 motor.. or drive aggressively.. or plan to do much of anything with it past your kids paying in the dirt outside.

going full metal is even better, but I don't personally feel it's necessary unless you plan to really push these trucks.

frankly I'm upset at how weak the driveshafts too. snapped one just running on carpet in a few minutes on a 180 motor. and that was just a 4x4 Toyota.

Got a thread or link to more of those Bruder conversions for the larger trucks? I've seen a few of the 4x4's but haven't seen how people have set up their semi's and other larger 6x6 trucks.

I looked for a little while for some specs on that MZ brand one. I’m thinking a set of Mini axles would fit underneath it.

Yes. That’d be a cool rig, for me, to have. Tamiya Hummer wheels and some siped big rig tires....
