Does anyone know if the RC4WD Gelande 2 1/18 v2 transmission will fit in the CR24? If so, will it provide better performance compared to the stock one? My goal is to hop up to better quality parts (or at least parts that are more easily available) and the v2 tranny seems good if it fits.

Here's a better non-fpv video of the CR-24 crawling around. This thing is so much fun.

These should work as long as the frame is the same as the RGT and Barrage.

Then your set.

Works here in the US. If you don't have a VPN try temporarily changing your region under the YouTube settings.

The skid plates swap over so this should work, but I don't see why someone would buy this and a V2 transmission when the CR-24 transmission is already geared lower than the Barrage. If you need more a 10T brass pinion and a 1$ Barrage 64T spur gear should be plenty slow.

Sorry, I updated the audio to make it unblocked everywhere. I edited my original post with the updated link as well.

I do not like the hideous red parts... I see some with and without. How do I make sure it comes without?

Looks like aliexpress version d1rc does not have the red parts.

Ya I will probably just go through Aliexpress and get the Black Jeep

I just bought an ecx barrage the other day on ebay. I wish I would have discovered this model before hand (more crawler capable and cheaper right out of the box). I do like the body style of the barrage over any other design from FTX,RGT,CR24,D1RC

Im debating if I should take the plunge or just hold off to see how I like the ecx first.

The red parts seem to only be the early prototypes and early release models over seas from what I've seen. Everything else seems to have black parts. I have 3 from asiatees and all have black parts. They'd be easy to paint anyway. Imo the ,LEDs,and wheels and especially the transmission make this a better buy than the Barrage for the $

Hi,
got this nice little truck the day before yesterday.

It is sold as Amewi AMX AM24 Rock Crawler

Did already loose a drive train screw when driving and had really a hart time to find such a screw in the right lenght in my stuff (and I have tons of tiny screws from my micro helis).

Anyone knows how to use the third channel of the transmitter?

Walter

I straitened it out but its a week point and its not perfectly straight. I ordered 2 axle sets last night and some new knuckles as well as a clear body just for the heck of it. I wish the remote had a rate adjustment for the steering. i'm excited to get my parts and fix er up.
My favorite 1/24 for sure. Maybe I should buy a couple more?
Hello all, new to forum and dipping my toes in crawling!

I picked up CR-24 Defender from Asiatees (fast shipping btw!), and I am experiencing the same thing. When my steering is at lock, and I give full throttle, the dogbone pops out. Every time. Makes it very difficult to use. Is this normal, and just addressed by more conservative steering? I'm involving my boys (ages 6 & 8 ), and they love our living room crawling courtesy of furniture, fireplace aprons and plenty of cardboard ramps . The steering issue has made it a bit frustrating though. Hoping that this is a rare occurrence solved by parts replacement.

Does the Tx have endpoint ability?

I doubt a factory RTR radio has endpoint adjustments, I don't remember seeing any.

As far as steering popping out make sure the knuckle is fully seated onto the axle. I had mine pop off and that was the reason.

Interesting to see another branded version of the CR-24 and that the interior packaging gets crushed the same way lol p

Unfortunately, not steering endpoint.

I will double check the knuckle and make sure it is seated all the way, thanks.

I contacted Asiatees support, and provided them a video of what is going on. Here is link to video if interested: https://photos.app.goo.gl/bs9WHsbvbtJZV7km8

I've had the same problem. You can adjust the steering somewhat via the remote.

Wow that is bad! I'm surprised the manufacturer allowed that to pass... Especially since this is not a one off issue from the sounds of it. I ordered mine a few days back its the d1rc version. When I get it I'll report if it has similar issues. I plan to swap out the esc and receiver though so maybe some endpoint settings would fix this.

I've had a front left dog bone pop out too. Seems some cvd's might be a useful upgrade for this thing.

I broke the center driveshaft a few days ago after getting caught in some tall grass. The failure happened at the ball joint on the rear center driveshaft. The tiny plastic hinges on the ball are the weak link.

So just FYI, if your wheels get bound up, don't try to power through like you would in a 1/10th scale. It's best to stop and clear the debris.

I'm willing to bet cvds won't be available for this ever. I don't know that would even fix the problem. I've only had the problem happen on my first CR-24 that has a Barrage Spur and smaller brass pinion, however I don't drive my stock one nearly as much.
It looks like the problem is the Carrier hub isn't secure enough on the axle which lets the axle shaft walk out of the housing with the C-hub & knuckle.
I'll probably be getting home pretty late as per usual, but I'll try and take a look at it. I wonder if there is enough room to simply screw the Chub to the axle instead of a clamp style.
